Don't fuel your acne. I'm looking at you...holding that energy drink.

Drinks that are promoting electrolytes and vitamins may actually do you more harm than good.

P.S. it also may have a high amount of B12 that can contribute to breakouts too.

I completely understand why most people head straight to a dermatologist when acne appears. I did the same thing when my acne first appeared.
The reality is conventional medicine is often a one size fits all pattern. Not always. But often. I know what most dermatologists prescribe on your first visit. I know what they prescribe on your second visit when your acne does not clear.

Acne management is best for you if you consider acne in a holistic manner.

For example, you understand that acne often involves multiple triggers and variables we must sort through. Acne management is also best for you if you've tried conventional methods with no luck (or if you best align with a coaching relationship).

It's not about how much it is, it's about what works for YOUR skin.

I still get pimples sometimes, AND THAT'S OKAY ✨

Non-comedogenic may mean the product is less likely to clog pores. However, this is not always the case. I don't rely on these marketing terms and neither should you!

The same goes for acne on the lower half of the face. The internet likes to categorize this as hormonal acne, but that also isn't always the case.

Sometimes it takes a professional to figure out what's going on, not just Google or Reddit 💁🏼‍♀️

Taking skincare advice online? I highly suggest you do a little homework first before you throw all your trust in someone who may not have the credentials to give advice.

A BTS look at the onboarding process here at Lindsay Sullivan Skincare ✨

Here's what to expect:

Prior to your appointment you are sent a digital intake form where I will ask you lots of questions about your skin. I ask that you link every single product you're using on your skin and hair. Yes, It's a lot of work but it's crucial to see the whole picture of potentially why you're breaking out. I ask you tell me about what's going on and how I can help you.

Prior to your appointment I study your history, review all potential triggers and have a tentative game plan prior to even meeting you!

When you come into the studio we talk about your history of breaking out all the way back to when you first started breaking out. We talk about what has worked, what has not worked and where we go from here.

We talk about your goals, the impact acne has had on your life and how amazing it will be to not have acne be a thing for you anymore.

Together we finalize our game plan and get to work on your first treatment. This method, I feel, is essential to clear skin.

There is nothing worse then the let down of another failed attempt to help your acne.

When you're ready for clear skin, I am ready to help you. If you're not sure acne management is for you shoot me a DM and we can chat about it ! :)

Tips on how to approach friends or family with acne the RIGHT way 🤍

If I need car advice I typically do not go to my hair stylist for it. If I need hair advice I typically don't ask an accountant. You dig what I'm saying?

While social media has changed the game in getting any type of advice fast, I highly suggest you check credentials of the advice you're consuming. Someone may seem credible yet they have zero licensure to give advice.

Always check that your skincare specialist has a license to practice.

The stress and acne connection...it's a thing. But remember, stress makes just about everything worse.
But stressing about being stressed will only make you more stressed. Try walking, being outside in nature and away from electronics.
