I love this photo that my partner so kindly took.

Here is evidence of the magnificent wildness of my motherhood journey. An authentic, unguarded, and joy-filled moment in my home with the people I love most.

I’ve been revisiting this photo recently as I am desperately searching for a touchstone with which to balance myself in the storm my world seems to be lately.

I can do nothing about the barrage of doctors appointments I’ve been plagued with, but have done my best to mitigate the stress and pain of current events. Today, as I opened Instagram to try and make up for my absence by making a few posts, I was instantly hit with a bit of news that broke me. I’m still struggling with it now. I’m overwhelmed with heartache and fear. Tears still threaten, white hot and relentless.

I don’t have any hot take. I’m unsure how to breathe hope and love into my community. I am unconvinced that my efforts to do so are even the right choice.

All I know is- I’ve had to take this day by day. Some days moment by moment. I’ve found no refuge in social media, no safety in my screen, and no comfort in rumination.

The only safe space is now.
This moment.
The one where my son is tucked in his bed, my tea is hot, my blanket is cozy, and I am safe to write out these troubled thoughts.
The one where you were gifted the time and safety to decompress by watching the world through photos and words.
Where we are breathing.
We are whole.
We are here together.

One thing about me is I’m going to get the urge to dye my hair 5 minutes before a vacation and I may not even see what it looks like until I get off the airplane and take it down

I dyed my hair green the morning of my baby shower.

I tried a brand new orange the day before my honeymoon and waltzed all over Northern Italy with hair the color of a traffic cone.

And I dyed it half purple and half hot pink the night before my summer beach vacay
🏖
And I have the time to do that while I’m doing laundry because I waited too late to pack and now I’m anxious

Gotta cope somehow…

Anyway- how’s your summer going?

This babe sent me photos of her summer color at the beach and it’s giving ✨cool girl✨

Not all blonde is created equal.
When Heather needed a change she sent me these photos (swipe) and we discussed the quality of light on real honey. How when there is sun shining through a honeycomb, you see this beautiful golden hue, but without it a rich dark chocolate color can be observed.

We darkened her base color to a level 4 warm golden brunette and gave her a money piece and balayage of the most beautiful honey blonde!

I don’t always get my hair cut, but when I do I REMEMBER WHAT A BADASS I AM 🤓

I get so much joy any time a guest sends me a selfie of them feeling good in their new hair, and this one put a smile on my face all day!
