Summer is nearly over and man am I going to miss long hot days at the pool with all the beautiful souls I was blessed to work alongside of! How in the world will I get thru the next several months without these beauties????

Back in May when my friend asked me if I’d want to be a lifeguard with her, I thought to myself, “How silly of a job for an older gal like me!” But then I remembered how much fun I had when I was younger, going through my professional rescuers coursework and learning how to sail—and I thought, “Why not?” I love the water, obsess over the sun—and I’m too old to be working at anything that doesn’t fill my heart with joy. I’m so glad I jumped in as this summer has been one of the busiest and most fulfilling summers yet! Bonus—I have the greatest crew to work with and my sweet daughter is amongst that crew. Have you thought of changing your line of work and are older and maybe a little fearful to do so??? Now is the time! There’s nothing you can’t conquer! Life is too damn short not to be filling it with the things you love! Have you ever felt this way? What is it that you still wanna pursue???

I’ve always felt like a convenience. The person you have around if it suits you, or if there is no one better to take up their time. Feeling disposable around those you would move hell and high water to be with, is so defeating and keeps me in a state of unworthy and not good enough. But….now….I choose me!!! I choose to surround myself with people who also CHOOSE me! I will not put myself down by being another persons convenience. I know I have far too much to offer and far to much love to give to ever do this again. Do you feel similarly? What or who are you choosing today????
