•”What can you do about these lines here?!”
•”Can you get these lines with Botox?!”

👉🏼While yes, many areas of the face are treatable with Botox, there are also certain areas/ lines that aren’t.

💉“Botoxable” lines or “dynamic” lines appear when the muscles in your face move, such as when you smile, frown, or raise your eyebrows. They are temporary and disappear when your face relaxes. Dynamic lines are caused by a combination of muscle movement and collagen depletion over time. Botox can temporarily freeze the muscles that cause dynamic lines to relax.

❌”Non-botoxable” lines or “static” lines are typically always visible, even when your face is relaxed. They are caused by a loss of collagen and elastin in the skin, which can be due to aging, genetics, smoking, sleeping on your side, exposure to the sun or environmental toxins. Static lines can become permanent overtime. Daily skincare products that contain retinol, vitamin C, or hyaluronic acid can help improve the appearance of static lines over time, but are not treatable with Botox.

✨ In Honor of National PA Week: Here’s My Update on Me and My Passion ✨

Hi! I’m Maria, a board-certified Physician Associate for the past 13 years.👩🏽‍⚕️ I still moonlight in the ER (because I just can’t let it fully go) while running my full-time practice and training academy. I’ve got a big, fat, Greek 🇬🇷 family, including my supportive husband, two incredible kids, and of course, our Great Pyrenees named Botox, or “Bo” for short. 👧🏼👦🏼🐶

I’m still on a mission to break the stigma around injectables. ❌ I truly believe aesthetic treatments should be undetectable 🔍, artistic, and all about enhancing natural beauty. 💉

Safety and patient experience are always at the heart of what we do. 📈Our team and footprint have grown a lot this year, and we’ve even launched a complication clinic to support both patients & providers. 🫶🏼🩻

Education is one of my biggest passions, because knowledge-sharing is key in this field. (No gatekeeping!) 👯‍♀️🔮♊️ This year, I launched a Patreon (still getting the hang of editing apps 😂) and will be offering an online course option alongside our in-person trainings.

A major career highlight? Speaking internationally at CMAC 🌍—It was an incredible experience! I’m hoping to dive deeper into research/publishing this year. 📝

I’m still fascinated by anatomy 🫀, everything lavender 🪻, black holes 🪐🕳️, lacrosse 🥍, and, yes, reading medical journals at 1 a.m. 💜

I’ve come to accept that I’m a workaholic—but I’m actively learning how to delegate (even though it’s hard, because this business is my baby). 🗂️ My biggest challenge still remains finding that sweet spot between work and family life. ⚖️ But I’m working on it, and letting go of the guilt that comes with trying to juggle it all.
