There’s a debate on whether you should wear styles over your locs. Here’s my take:

1. Do it, but only if your locs are in their healthiest state (no weak points, scalp conditions). You can also do it if you have starter locs.

2. Dont wear the style for too long. Wear the style for only 2 weeks MAXIMUM

3. Wear styles that use kinky textures such as twists or braids

4. Stick to styles that still expose your scalp so that you can wash if you need to.

5. If you’re going to get a wig install, be mindful that this is a temporary install and you should not wear it very long, like a week max. Your locs need to breath and your scalp should not be suffocated for too long with coverings like a wig cap.

6. Go to a professional who’s going to maintain the integrity of your locs and avoid careless methods to accomplish your desired style.
