I help women with fine thin hair grow their hair longer and stronger through the art of hair extensions.

The relief that comes with not stressing about your hair is something I can’t even put into words.

Today I literally threw my wig on in the parking lot before walking into the salon.

No brush.
No styling.
No panic.

Just grab it and go. 🏃‍♀️

The time it’s giving me back in the mornings with my boys has been life-changing. Instead of worrying about my hair, I get more moments with them.

If you’re struggling with hair loss, please know you don’t have to just live with it. There are options, and together we’ll find the one that fits your lifestyle, your goals, and your budget.

I never thought I’d say this... but getting ready has actually become fun again.

The more I wear my wig, the more it feels like me.

The weirdest part?

I’ll edit a video and see a clip of myself without it and think, “Whoa... that’s not how I picture myself anymore.”

Somehow, this little piece of hair has become the version of me I always saw in my head.

And if you’ve ever felt guilty for loving the hair that gives you your confidence back... don’t.

Sometimes confidence isn’t about changing who you are.

Sometimes it’s about finally seeing yourself the way you’ve always wanted to.

If the word “wig” makes your stomach sink... I get it.

That was me.

Even as a hairstylist.

I had so many assumptions about what wearing a wig would be like.

I thought it would look obvious, feel uncomfortable, and constantly remind me that my hair sucked.

So I pushed the idea away.

But after experiencing hair loss myself, I finally decided to try one.

And honestly... it wasn’t anything like I expected.

Now I can get ready in minutes, have the hair I used to wish for, and stop spending so much mental energy worrying about whether my extensions are showing that day.

I’m sharing this journey because I know there are women silently having the same thoughts I had.

If that’s you, I hope my experience helps make the word “wig” feel a little less scary. 💗

I’ll never forget the moment someone told me I’d be a great candidate for a topper.

I wasn’t ready.

At the time, I was “just thinning.”

Or at least that’s what I told myself.

So I kept trying to make extensions work. I convinced myself that if I found the right method, the right color, or the right cut, I’d finally feel confident again.

Fast forward to today...

My hair loss has progressed into the beginning stages of female pattern hair loss, with what’s known as a Christmas tree part.

And while I don’t wear a topper... yet... I do wear a wig.

Funny enough, the hair solutions I once told myself were “for other people” are now the very things helping me feel like myself again.

Sometimes we’re not rejecting the solution.

We’re just grieving the fact that we might need one.

If you’re in that place right now, I see you. 🤍

There have been consultations where I’ve told someone, “I don’t think extensions are the best option for you.”

Not because I can’t do them.

Because I genuinely don’t think they’re the right fit.

Sometimes the better answer is a topper.

Sometimes it’s a wig.

Sometimes it’s waiting a little longer.

And sometimes it’s pointing someone in a different direction altogether.

Does that mean I lose out on a service?

Sometimes.

But I’d rather do that than recommend something I don’t believe is right for your hair.

Integrity is one of the core values Texture+Sage was built on, and that means recommending what’s best for you, not what’s best for my books.

At the end of the day, I’d rather you leave with the right plan than the most expensive one.

I keep asking myself... “Why didn’t I try this sooner?“

But if I’m being honest... I never even let wigs be an option for me.

In my mind, wigs looked like the cheap Halloween one I wore as Cruella de Vil. So instead...I kept trying to make extensions work.

Maybe a different color.

Maybe a shorter haircut.

Maybe a different extension method.

Every change led me right back to the same problem. My scalp.

None of those solutions addressed the one thing I needed help with most. Then it hit me...

Wigs are the “extension mommy makeover.”

Extensions add length and fullness to the hair you already have. A wig gives you a completely fresh start.

Now I’m just wondering...

Why did I wait so long to give them a chance?

This was SUCH a good question because it's the part of the wig journey that people rarely talk about.

There's a short period where you're completely shell-shocked.

You've been used to seeing yourself one way for so long, so seeing yourself with different hair can feel unfamiliar at first.

Then you start wearing it. Friends compliment your hair. A stranger stops you to tell you they love it.

That's when it clicks:
"Oh... people actually think this is my hair."

Until that moment, there's often this lingering fear:"What are people going to think if I'm wearing a wig?"

But on the other side of that fear is so much relief.

You get to have great hair days without worrying about your scalp showing. You spend less time stressing and more time living your life.

And that kind of freedom is hard to put into words until you experience it.
