“I need a big change but I don’t want to lose length.” I’ve gotchu girl! These curtain bangs are giving off sexy s**g vibes without committing to short s**ggy layers. Curtain bangs look good on anyone and they are very versatile. They are also very easy to grow out because they morph into face framing layers as they get longer. Not that Paola has to worry about that because I do fringe (bang) trims for free. Yes, that’s right, absolutely free for my clients. Why? I do it because I’m way more skilled at it than you are 2 glasses of wine in on a Saturday night 4 weeks before your next trim. Anyway, we gave Paola killer curtain bangs, sexy AF layers, and freshened up her hair color and voila, big change and she’s still rocking her long hair. **g

Gray blending with baby lights. I see so many clients that come to me with salt and pepper hair that complain about how “brassy” their hair is after getting highlights. The truth is 99% of the time it’s not the highlights that are making their blonde hair look brassy. It’s almost always the base color being used between foils to cover their grey. Permanent color will always eventually oxidize and expose its underlying pigment. Most blondes have a base color level between 6-8. If you know your color wheel, you know the underlying pigments of levels 6-8 range from red-orange to orange-yellow. Therefore, when you cover your grays with permanent color, you are going to see brassy tones eventually make there way through. Some will be worse than others depending on what your natural level is and what your dominant underlying pigment is. Okay so why am I rattling on about all of this? I think we are sometimes too quick to color between foils. This client hates seeing brass and wants to be as bright as possible. I did a full head of baby lights and patiently let it process as high as we could get her without damaging the hair. Her natural level is pretty dark but her salt is nice and bright. By doing only highlights, we are not exposing any of her brassy undertones nor are we introducing permanent color into her hair with underlying pigments that will turn brassy when oxidized. This doesn’t work for everyone, but when it does, it is the BEST OPTION for holding brass at bay. So, if you are struggling with brassy hair, ask your stylist if using your natural hair color as a base for your blonde hair is an option. It can save you time, money, and frustration and help you achieve your blonde goals.

Reverse balayage. I actually only did about 12 foil packets on this 👑 and deposited some warmth back into her hair using 3 different formulas from roots to ends.
