Because bonds matter…
A hydrogen bond is typically a temporary physical change. When these bonds are repeatedly broken, plus mechanical damage, mineral overload and UV exposure, the curls can have a more permanent change resembling a chemical bond breaking.

In understanding this we can predict how the curls will react with water and product to help with styling and nursing back to health.
