i don't think i'm alone in saying this: doing our taxes every year sucks. this year was even worse -- between my day job, my senegence biz, my husband's old job and the new construction company we started last fall, there were just SOOOOOO many moving pieces. 😖😖

and we didn't even get it done in time! 😂🤣 had to file an extension on that b. but it's in the hands of the accountant, and we're not racing to the post office to send it out, so i guess that's a win?

it's manic monday again -- that time when we start our weeks and feel upside down and sideways (and probably a little tired, if we're honest).

so why AM i grinning like an ass?? because of this one-minute exercise that was just shared with me. set a timer on your phone and then:

1) close your eyes and smile big - big, genuine and maybe a little goofy
2) let your smile relax and breathe in soooooooo deep ... as much air as you can fill your body with, then breathe it out
3) keep on breathing and focusing on your breath, chasing any thoughts out of your mind by returning back to your breathing

ding! you've started a new habit that will help your mind be happier!

i decided to take the boys on a surprise donut date before school this morning - mornings tend to be pretty chaotic and rush-rush-rush so i figured it would be a nice friday change of pace! getting back in the car to head to school, charlie exclaimed, "thank you, mommy, for this wonderful journey!" so i'm going to go ahead and call that a success 😍😍

also a success: bold lipstick that's not on my donut!! 🍩🍩
