Lymphatic Massage for Relief of Pain and Swelling Following Cancer Treatment or Surgery

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle massage technique that stimulates a part of the immune system to work more efficiently. This helps the body reduce swelling (edema) and relieve the pain and stiffness that it causes.

A treatment session typically lasts about an hour. The massage is very soothing and most people are able to relax and sleep throughout their treatment.

At the end of the massage there will be a noticeable reduction in swelling and pain. The affected area will feel softer and movement will be much easier.

The real benefit of these treatments though is that the body is stimulated to heal faster. So the swelling and discomfort will continue to improve more rapidly during the days following the lymphatic massage.
