If you've been in the shop the last few weeks.. I'm sure you can tell we're fired up to have folks in after-hours for some sweet tunes, tasty bevies, and solid people watching. Even if you're not singing, come by and party with the crew and let JP & DJ D.Lite (aka: Justin & Daryl) keep you entertained to kick off the holiday weekend!

Justin and Daryl are stepping out from behind the chairs and slipping into their alter egos as JP The Barber & DJ D.Lite to host a night of good tunes and, likely, questionable voices.

So, whether you've got the voice of an angel or need a little liquid encouragement (you know we've got that covered) - whatever you're singin' - we want to hear it HERE next Friday during the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association First Friday Festivities!

The folks at the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association are amazing supporters of our Downtown businesses and we’re thankful to volunteer with them and be a Friend of Downtown to keep building community together. It’s Friend Friday and today we’re excited to introduce and thank our friends Mat & Kelly Quiring, co-owners of Revelry Barber & Shave Shop located at 101 S. Main St in Downtown Fuquay-Varina.

Hi! Revelry Barber & Shave Shop is a traditional barber shop with modern amenities. We wanted to create a place where getting a haircut isn't just another item on your to-do list, but an experience you actually look forward to. Whether you're enjoying a beverage, listening to good music, playing a game of pool, browsing records, or chatting with friends, we want everyone who walks through our doors to feel right at home.

Our journey into barbering started in a pretty unexpected way. Before our wedding, I (Kelly) sent Mat and his groomsmen to a traditional barber shop to get cleaned up for the big day. He and one of his groomsmen walked out and said, "Let's go do that for the rest of our lives." After we got married, Mat enrolled in barber school and began sketching out his dream shop from day one. I never imagined leaving my career in hotel and hospitality management, but it quickly became clear that Revelry was a dream we were building together and our roots were to be planted here on our corner in Downtown Fuquay!

We opened our doors in January 2018 and have loved being part of Downtown Fuquay ever since.

The name Revelry means "lively, noisy, and unrestrained merrymaking/partying, characterised by dancing, festivities, music & drinking! While there may not be a lot of dancing in the shop, we definitely embrace the energy that amplifies when folks are enjoying good tunes, tasty beverages and spirited conversations in our space!
Every service includes a beverage, and guests can enjoy everything from Ms. Pac-Man and pool to a carefully selected variety of beers, ciders, and sours, browsing records all while receiving an old-world barbering experience from professionals who take pride in their craft.

Our shop is located in the historic Mitchell Building, which was once the first Chevrolet dealership in Southern Wake County. The building has been home to several long-standing Fuquay businesses over the years, and we're honored to be part of that legacy. If you stop by, we'd be happy to show you some of the historic photos documenting the building's evolution which were lovingly curated by Downtown Fuquay Supporters and Residents The Cristofferson’s. .
A perfect day in Downtown has changed a bit for us over the years. When we first opened, it probably ended with a late night at The Mill after work. These days, our 5-year-old daughters are in charge! You'll usually find us grabbing a beer at Mason Jar Tavern while the girls play on the playground, with at least one (and often multiple) trips to Pints Ice Cream & Beer somewhere in the mix.
Our favorite Downtown event is still Trick or Treat Downtown. We actually participated before we even opened our doors while we were still building out the shop. Hundreds of families stopped in for candy, curious to see what was coming to the corner. We met so many future customers, neighbors, and friends that day, and it was one of the first moments we truly felt at home here. Seeing those same families—and many new ones—return each year in costume continues to be one of our favorite traditions.
We're proud Friends of the FVDA because they've been one of our biggest supporters from the very beginning. Being a Friend means much more than making an annual donation. It's an investment in a team of passionate people who work tirelessly to support local businesses, create memorable events, and help preserve the unique character that makes Downtown Fuquay special. From educational opportunities and grants to the FVDA events that bring our community together, we're grateful for everything they do to make Downtown a place where people want to gather, shop, and celebrate.
