Update: I started chemo on May 14. I am doing IV treatments once every 21 days, and doing Chemo Pills at home on a daily basis. I have gone through my first week and a half. Side effects haven’t been too terrible other than cold sensitivity, some nausea/upset stomach, fatigue, and muscle spasms.
My blood work was “perfect” according to my doctor and MRI results showed that the tumor is still localized - no spreading and my lymph nodes are clear! Praise God for that! 💕👏🏻
On another note, my doctor informed me that I have a cyst on each o***y. Apparently they have been there since my first CT scan in the hospital (February), but bc the doctors were so focused on my colon, this was somewhat overlooked. She is referring me to a gynecological oncologist because MRI results said the cysts were “complex“. She doesn’t know exactly what is going on with them, but she believes the GYN oncologist will likely monitor them throughout my treatment, and at the time my colorectal mass is removed, they will likely perform a hysterectomy (or partial).
I am at peace about it though. I feel incredibly grateful that my blood work looks so good and that my lymph nodes are clear. Thank you for all of your continued prayers. I cannot thank you enough for those. Also, thank you for all the texts, phone calls, meals, groceries, donations, etc. I thank God for each and every one of you. Please continue to keep me and the kids in your prayers. Love you all. 🩷

Hey y’all! So I’ve had a lot of people reach out to me wondering what exactly has been going on, and I figured I would make a post for all the world to see. 😆
On January 24, I was admitted to the hospital for severe abdominal pain and profuse vomiting. Turns out my colon perforated and I had to have emergency life-saving surgery. I woke up with an 11 inch incision on my abdomen and two bags connected to my stomach as well. One is a colostomy bag and the other is a mucous fistula bag. The doctor also found a mass in my colon, which we later learned is malignant. Thankfully, CT scans have shown that it is localized to just the tumor itself and has not spread any other organs or lymph nodes.
I spent 16 days in the hospital, and was finally discharged on February 9. I am currently doing outpatient wound care twice a week and recently had a wound VAC put in place. Once my incision is fully healed, I will be receiving chemo, followed by radiation which should take a total of around six months. Following those treatments, I will be having surgery to remove the mass, and hopefully during that same surgery resection my colon so that I know longer need the bags.
I am so thankful to be home. And I am so grateful to each of you for reaching out the way you have. All the text messages, the cards, the flowers, the meals, the groceries, the donations, and especially the prayers. I cannot thank you enough. I have been so humbled by everyone’s generosity. I am still not working, and will probably continue to be out of work for a while. I appreciate your continued prayers and support as I face this journey. This season of life has truly taught me what it means to have a village in your corner. I have seen the Lord work through so many of you whether you recognize it or not, and I cannot express how grateful I am for all of it. Love you guys. ♥️

Yesterday marked one month since I had a life saving [and changing] surgery. It’s amazing how quickly life can turn around. Latest update below if you missed it. Thank you for the support and prayers, and please keep them coming. ♥️🙏🏼
🤍🤍::Update on my Sister::🤍🤍
She is home from the hospital, still healing from her major surgery, going to wound care ❤️🩹 doctor twice a week to watch her healing progress and try to heal as fast as possible. I was down and stayed with her all this past week and we went to her first oncology appointment.
She will start a 6 month regimen of Chemo+Radiation Therapy as soon as her stomach wound is healed fully (approximately 3 weeks or so). She is waiting for an MRI to diagnose what stage her tumor is which will also better inform her treatment plan moving forward.
Please keep her in your prayers and if you can donate to her GoFundMe or sign up for a Meal on her Mealtrain, she would be so blessed to have your support as she continues to be unable to work.

Latest update via my sister. ♥️🙏🏼
::Update on my Sister::❤️🩹🙏🏻
Hi everyone, thank you for continued prayers. My sister came home from the hospital on Monday night. She is really grateful to be home with her 3 kids but is now trying to adjust to wound care from the surgery, managing her 2 Ostomy bags on her own and also the pain in general. Her sweet friends Amy and Cheryl started her a Mealtrain. If you are near and want to come bring her and the kids dinner or far and want to send a gift card or have something delivered, below is her mealtrain link.
She still has Radiation therapy and at least one more surgery ahead of her, so her GoFundMe is still available if you want to help her with expenses while she’s unable to work. Thank you so much for all the support and prayers. 🙏🏻🙌🏼❤️🩹

More hospital views. Two weeks on the inside. 😆 Still needing all your prayers. Updates below via my sister:
::Update::
Pathology came back for my sister’s colon tumor and it’s malignant.
The positive is that it has not spread to lymph nodes or anywhere else in her body 🙌🏼❤️🩹
She had a port placed yesterday for Radiation treatment and will come home from the hospital once her initial surgical wounds are healed. She will then start 5 and a half weeks of Radiation treatment followed by a 2nd surgery.
Thank you all for you outpouring of prayers and love and support.
She is going on week 3 of not working and I am not sure what she will be able to do or when, so if you are able to donate to help her and her kids pay bills through treatment, she would be so blessed by it. 🙏🏻
