Parents - can’t stress enough to check heads WITH a lice comb and please note: lice and their eggs(nits) are NOT white!!! Everything lice related is BROWN! That is why we say to wipe on a napkin after using a comb to be sure!

Quite the busy busy week we have had! So many schools we have kids from! Here’s a list of where we have lice from this week- keep in mind- there is probably lice at many more schools since schools are not required to report and kids can go to school with Headlice and do not have to be sent home with active lice anymore- but these are where we have seen lice from:

Parents: the over the counter kits don’t work- lice are resistant to the pesticides in them and the combs in those kits are too wide to remove the nits/ eggs- and they are not meant to be used as preventatives! If you are not sure that your child has lice; do t use “just in case”- this causes the resistance! Use a lice comb to check or make an appointment to come in for a screening!

Crazy busy today with lice cases! Please- if checking- you must must check with a lice comb preferably on a wet head with a lice comb and wipe in a napkin! Anything lice related will be brown! I have posted pictures recently and will re post as to what nits (eggs) look like and what bugs look like- feel free if you find something questionable to text us a picture and we can help you identify! Incredibly busy this weekend as we saw lots of lice in the salon this weekend. Many schools and day cares- the cases we have been seeing have been been from mild to very severe- and have seen many cases where families have been dealing with cases that have been “stubborn” to treatments that have failed!

This is what lice and what nits/eggs look like—they are NOT white!!!!! A lot of parents/nurses believe they are white- they are NOT- you can have white specs and things in your hair that do not move off easily and that is not necessarily things that are lice relatedl. They can be hair casts or fatty clumps of cells that collect on the hair shaft. That is why you are to do lice checks with a lice comb and wipe on napkin- if it is lice related- it will show up brown!!!! Please refer to the pictures for reference—have questions?
