Jodi Clark Salon
Welcome to your personalized hair experience, where expert transformations and hair health education come together for truly customized results! Hello Loves!!!!
Changing your hair should NEVER be a scary experience! A great way to "try out" a different stylist is to book a shampoo & style! You'll meet the stylist, talk to them about your hair, what you love, don't love, etc., and begin building a trusted relationship – and there is NO commitment of a new cut or color until you’re ready! One of the most important--and often underrated--parts of your salon

Yes!, you can add dimension to brunette hair without feeling blonde. A few strategically placed lighter pieces can create movement, brighten your face, and show off your haircut without changing your overall identity as a brunette. The secret is choosing the right placement and contrast. Fine ribbons stay soft and blended. Wider pieces create a bolder effect. A deeper lowlight can add just as much dimension as a highlight. You don’t need a full head of lightener to make brown hair more interesting. Sometimes less color, placed thoughtfully, makes the biggest difference.

Day 5 — So, what do you do when your hair suddenly feels different?
If there’s one thing I want you to take away from this series, it’s this, don’t panic and buy six different hair growth products at once. Start by paying attention. Take a few clear pictures of your part and hairline in the same lighting. Think back two or three months, were you sick, under a lot of stress, losing weight, eating differently, or starting a new medication? Look at the hair you’re finding. Is it mostly long strands coming from the root, or shorter broken pieces?
Then get consistent with the basics, enough protein and calories, regular gentle cleansing, conditioner, less tension, careful detangling and less unnecessary heat.
Please bring it up while you’re in my chair. I can take a closer look at your scalp and hair, help you recognize shedding versus breakage, adjust your hair care routine and tell you when I think it needs a medical opinion. You don’t have to figure it all out by yourself and you definitely don’t have to believe every miracle claim you see online.
Day 4 — Shedding or breakage? They are not the same problem. Not every hair in the sink fell out from the root, some of it snapped off.
Shedding usually involves full length strands releasing from the scalp. Breakage leaves shorter pieces, frayed ends, a fuzzy halo, and areas that never seem to gain length. Over lapping lightener, frequent high heat, tight styles, rough detangling, and weak ends can all contribute.
Why does the difference matter? Because a scalp serum cannot repair a strand that is breaking halfway down and a conditioning treatment cannot correct a medical reason for shedding from the root.
In the salon, I can look closely at the scalp and hair, check for visible breakage patterns, and help protect the hair you have. I CANNOT diagnose anemia, thyroid disease, hormonal hair loss, or an autoimmune condition. Sometimes the best hair advice is a gentler routine and sometimes it is a dermatologist appointment.

Day 3 — GLP-1s, weight loss, and hair shedding!
Are GLP-1 medications making people lose their hair? The answer needs more than a yes or no.
Hair shedding has been reported with some weightloss medications, but rapid weight loss itself is also a well known trigger for temporary shedding. When appetite drops, protein, iron, and total calories can drop right along with it. Add the physical stress of losing weight quickly, and the hair may shift into a resting phase and then start shedding months later.
That does not mean everyone on a GLP-1 will shed, and it DOES NOT mean you should stop a prescribed medication on your own. It means hair health needs to be part of the conversation WITH the person prescribing it.
Prioritize enough food and protein( accordingto my Dr. 25 to 30g of protein 4x a day to avoid the hairloss that can pop up), avoid crash dieting, and ask your medical provider whether your symptoms or history call for lab work. Gummies cannot out supplement an underlying problem. If you have read this far please share this post, you never know who might need to read it. Thanks!
Day 2 — Your hair remembers what happened months ago!
Your hair may be reacting to something that happened months ago not yesterday. One common type of sudden, all over shedding is called telogen effluvium. Physical or emotional stress can push more hairs than usual into their resting phase. Those hairs do not fall immediately. The shedding often shows up two to three months later, which is why it can feel like it came out of nowhere.
I have my clients think back, was there an illness or fever, surgery, major stress, hormonal changes, rapid weight loss, a medication change, low iron, thyroid trouble, or not eating enough can all be pieces of the puzzle.
So before you go blaming the shampoo you started last Tuesday, look back a few months. Your hair may be telling an older story.
Tomorrow is the honest conversation about weight-loss medications and hair shedding.

Day 1 — Is it normal shedding, or something more?
Seeing hair in the shower does not automatically mean you are losing your hair. Most of us naturally shed around 50–100 hairs a day and if you only wash every few days, several days of loose hair may come out at once. That can look a little terrifying in the drain or on your hands! What gets my attention is a real change from your normal. Do you suddenly have a smaller ponytail, much more scalp showing, handfuls coming out, bare patches, or shedding that keeps going. Here is the frustrating part, the cause is not always something that happened this week. Hair works on a delay.
Tomorrow, I’ll explain why shedding that starts now may be connected to something your body went through two or three months ago.

Remember the 5 day series on Hair Growth and Shedding starts tomorrow! This does not replace your Dr.s advice and by no means is this medical advice. This is just an informational series. Any questions throughout the week just ask away!
