đđ˝We complain about the very things we once prayed for.
The slow mornings.
The busy salon days.
The loud house.
The full schedule.
At some point⌠those were answered prayers. đ
Scripture tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16â18 to ârejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstancesâŚâ đ
Not some circumstances.
All.
Joy isnât found in perfect situations.
Itâs found in a heart that remembers how blessed it really is.
That doesnât mean life isnât hard.
It means we donât let hardship make us forget Godâs goodness. đđź
âComplaining shifts our focus to whatâs missing.
âď¸Gratitude anchors us in whatâs already been given.
Today, Iâm choosing to pause before I complainâŚ
and remember:
This life Iâm living?
Itâs full of things I once begged God for.
đ¤Letâs be women who carry joy,
not because everything is easy,
but because God is still good in all of it.
⨠Whatâs one thing you can thank God for today?
đItâs always bitter sweet when the girls are no longer our right hand ladies!

đWeâve gotten really comfortable with ârespectable sins.â
The ones that donât shock anyone.
The ones we laugh about.
The ones that feel small.
But Scripture doesnât rank sin the way culture does.
In Romans 1:29â30, gossip is listed right next to murder and sexual immorality.
Let that sink in.
We treat gossip like a personality trait.
God lists it with bloodshed. đŹ
We laugh about it.
He calls it wickedness.
Sin doesnât become smaller just because culture makes it normal.
If it dishonors someone made in Godâs image, it dishonors God.
And if weâre honest⌠salons, friend groups, churches, workplacesâŚthese are the easiest places for it to slip in.
âDid you hearâŚ?â
âDonât repeat this, butâŚâ
âIâm just concerned about herâŚâ
What feels harmless can slowly poison a culture.
So hereâs the invitation:
Before you speak, ask:
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?
Would I say this if they were standing here?
Our Lord isnât asking for perfection..if we could attain HIS perfection, we wouldnât NEED Christ. Instead heâs asking for a heart postureâŚa repentant heart and a heart that seeks His righteousness.
So letâs be women who create safe rooms.
Rooms where reputations are protected.
Rooms where words give life.
Rooms that reflect Christ. âď¸
Guard your tongue. It carries more weight than you think. đ
â¨The guest experience isnât an âextraâ hereâŚitâs the whole point.
Fresh coffee. Real conversation. Thoughtful details.
And hair you feel confident walking out the door in.
We want you to leave lighter than when you walked in. đ¤

The Fruit of the Spirit isnât about being perfect, itâs about being intentional. đż
Galatians 5:22â23 reminds us of the 9 fruits that should show up in our everyday lives:
⨠Love ~ choosing kindness, even when itâs hard
⨠Joy ~ finding contentment beyond circumstances
⨠Peace ~ responding calmly instead of reacting emotionally
⨠Patience ~ giving grace when things donât go our way
⨠Kindness ~ speaking gently and acting thoughtfully
⨠Goodness ~ doing whatâs right, even when no one sees
⨠Faithfulness ~ showing up consistently and with integrity
⨠Gentleness ~ leading with humility and compassion
⨠Self-control ~ pausing before we speak or act
When we practice these dailyâŚat work, at home, and in our relationships, we reflect Christ in the simplest, most powerful ways.
Which fruit are you working on today? đ¤đą
Happy New Year!

đ Season Shift, Soul Shift đ
As the air gets cooler and the days slow down, itâs a good time to pause and care for the things that need renewalâyour hair, your heart, and your habits.
đŤ§Just like our hair needs extra nourishment when the seasons change, so do we. The dryness, the shedding, the changesâall part of the process of growth.
â¨Practical Tip: Switch to a richer conditioner, add a weekly hair mask, and protect those ends from cold air and heat tools.

âLord, let them see You in me.â
đ Thatâs our heart behind every conversation, every appointment, every act of service here. In a world thatâs quick to rush and compare, we want Olive & Oak to be a place that slows downâŚwhere peace, kindness, and grace are felt the moment you walk in.
When we listen well, serve with joy, and love without condition, thatâs when people see Him in us. âď¸
So today, wherever you are, in our chair, at home, or in the thick of a busy day, letâs make it our prayer:
đ To love like Jesus.
đ To speak with gentleness.
đ To show patience, even when itâs hard.
đ To serve others with genuine care.
May they see Him through us.
