UPDATE TO ALL MY VALUED CLIENTS:
As of this Monday, I have not been in salon, and will not be until further notice. I want to thank all of my amazing clients for all their support, and for being so understanding about how this current situation has affected my industry.
I think that it goes without saying that this is a trying time, and it saddens me to have to put what I love to do on hold. It’s scary to not know when we will be able to once again be a fully functioning salon.
In the meantime, I still do have clients that are reaching out in regards to scheduling an appointment. After much thought, I have decided to still make house calls.
As with any traveling I do as a stylist, I will be charging a flat fee of $25, and am able to travel to most of the Chicagoland area, as my clients are scattered.
As I have stated before, I will continue to practice all sanitization procedures of my tools, and myself. It is between my clients and me, as far as deciding to take that risk, and I ask that all people be respectful of that decision.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I have taken all of the necessary precautions that have been recommended to us by our local authorities in regards to social distancing. I have not been exposed to anyone/anything that I believe would put myself or anyone around me at a higher risk.
I chose personally, not to expose myself any further to the busier salon atmosphere. It is up to my clients to please show the same courtesy to me in regards to making the decision to have me come for the appointment. If you are at all feeling sick, please let’s postpone hair until we get a handle on things.
Furthermore, as I my own ‘small business’ entity, I truly thank you for your support during this time. It is helping my household stay afloat, and I could not be more grateful! 🙏

I am reaching out to all my clients, but I figured I would throw this up here as well :
Due to the nature of my job, I am a little more concerned for the safety of myself and those around me. Sometimes I joke that I have the immune system of a teacher because of the amount of contact that I have with others. I have been blessed this flu season, and have not had anything that has taken me out of work, but that is not to say that I can’t.
Additionally, for personal reasons, I choose not to get a flu shot. Hypothetically, any diagnosis that I may need in the future could be confused with the common flu. It seems strange that I am divulging all of this. However, it is my
goal in all this is to be completely honest and transparent because again, what I do puts me at risk.
Now that I have addressed the ‘what ifs’ on my end, I want to talk about all of the precautions that I am taking, and also what my salon is doing to make sure that those clients that are coming in, are not put at any greater risk.
It is ‘business as usual’ to make sure that all of our equipment and out stations are sanitized THOROUGHLY, and after EVERY INDIVIDUAL APPT. The standard disinfect that all cosmetologist use is HOSPITAL GRADE, and ANYTHING that I use on someone is and will always be IMMEDIATELY sanitized. One use only blades are replaced, everything is washed, especially my hands!
Additionally, as a salon we have decided to start using GLOVES For all of the services that require us to touch somebody (Which is all of them). It’s nothing personal, and I ask that all my clients please be understanding of any precautionary attire that will be worn on my end.
Most IMPORTANT, I ask that if you are feeling even the TINIEST bit of SICKNESS, please let’s postpone the hair until we have a grip on all of this. Regardless of any sanitization, the nature of my job requires me to be in contact with many people throughout the day, and I don’t want to tiptoe around that. My salon has decided as a whole, that if we feel that there is any reason that we should tell somebody to go home, we will.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of my loyal clients, and thank you for taking the time to read this important message!
EVERYONE STAY SAFE OUT THERE, and PLEASE TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER 🙏
