The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking lateral transfer applications for the positions of full-time Deputy Sheriff AND Correction Officer.

We offer the traditional duties of Patrol, Patrol Supervision, and Criminal Investigations but we also offer a multitude of varying and exciting assignments that includes Narcotics, School Resource Officer, K-9, Emergency Response Team, Marine Patrol, Correctional Emergency Response Team, Underwater Search and Recovery, Drone, and more!

🚨In order to be considered as a lateral transfer applicant for Deputy Sheriff, you must be currently serving as a Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff in New York State and must have been hired competitively from a New York State Civil Service List. In addition, you must have successfully completed your agency’s probationary period and the New York State Basic School for Police Officers or equivalency.

🔒In order to be considered as a lateral transfer applicant for Correction Officer, you must be currently serving as a Peace Officer/Correction Officer in New York State and must have been hired competitively from a New York State Civil Service List. In addition, you must have successfully completed your agency’s probationary period and the New York State Basic School for Correction Officers or equivalency.
