Charlie Kirk's widow Erika sends powerful message: "No one will ever forget my husband's name and I will make sure of it. It will become stronger, bolder, louder and greater than ever."

Someone recently asked me, “Why do you spend so much money on all star cheer?”
And I had to laugh. Because if you think I’m just paying for glittery bows and a two-minute-and-thirty-second routine, bless your heart.

I don’t pay for cheer.
I pay for the chaos.

I pay for the gas station dinners. The emergency Target runs for socks, lashes, and hair spray.
I pay for the sleepless nights in hotel rooms filled with bobby pins and the scent of spray tan.
I pay for the emotional rollercoaster that is “Did we hit?!” followed immediately by “What place did we get?!”

But mostly? I pay for the magic.

I pay for the way my child keeps showing up, even when they're tired, sore, and maybe a little emotionally unstable (same, honestly).
I pay for the unshakable confidence that blooms when they hit that stunt they swore they’d never get.
I pay for the friendships that turn into family. For the teammates who scream louder than anyone when it’s your kid’s solo tumble pass.

I pay for the tears they wipe after tough practices, and the ones I wipe after watching them push through when it would’ve been easier to quit.

I pay for the fierce, sassy, sparkly warrior my child is becoming, who knows how to win humbly, lose gracefully, and always keep fighting.

I don’t pay for trophies or jackets or banners.
I pay for lessons that’ll outlast every medal.

I pay for resilience.
I pay for joy.
I pay for growth.

And yes, I also pay for a rhinestoned uniform that costs more than my wedding dress.
But let’s not talk about that.

Because in the end, I’d pay it all over again.
For that smile on the mat, that fire in their eyes, and the moment they realize just how strong they really are.

So no, I don’t just pay for cheer.
I invest in the kind of human this sport is helping me raise.
And that? Is worth every dime… and every glitter-covered car seat. 💖📣
