110 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. 🇺🇸🕊️

Today, I climbed 110 flights of stairs, one flight representing each story of the World Trade Center towers.

A physical climb.
A spiritual reflection.
A moment of remembrance.

Just me, and the Holy Spirit.

With every flight, I remembered the lives lost on September 11, 2001. I remembered the families whose lives changed forever. I remembered the first responders who ran toward the danger, many climbing those very towers to save others.

110 flights may never fully capture the weight of that day but for a few moments, I carried a small physical burden in honor of those who carried so much more.

As I climbed, I prayed.

For those who never made it home.
For those who still grieve.
For the heroes who gave everything.
For the generations who must never forget.

Just me, and the Holy Spirit.

And with every step, one reminder remained:

We remember.
We honor.
We pray.
We never forget. 🇺🇸

Freedom is not free. It was earned by the men and women who answered our nations call.

This weekend as I sat down in this space, those words sat heavily on my chest. Tears, dripped from my face as I considered how many lives we have lost in war overseas…and then those that we lost when they made it home, but lost the war within themselves. We are far done healing ❤️‍🩹 the veteran community. We still have work to do.
Our fallen deserve to be remembered daily and our living deserve to be lifted up and supported daily.
This is why Ms. Veteran America is so important to me, to stand with our women veterans and show them they matter, just as the men we have served alongside.
