Wrapped up another master injector training session with the brilliant and most supportive, !! So grateful for this incredible continuing ed series by - mastering old skills while learning sooo many new techniques and tricks that I cannot wait to practice! Lip filler is not one size fits all! Two sets of lips done recently - vastly different ages, anatomies, and treatments. The first set is already beautifully plumped and shaped, but a little unbalanced. I chose a half syringe for this patient and focused more on bringing the bottom lip out, while adding hydration to all areas. The second set just desired more volume overall. It was more challenging, but we were able to give some lip height/show and a natural-looking plump 😍
📸 are taken immediately pre and post procedure; slight swelling is apparent. This resolves in 2-3 days.

These numbers may be surprising, but they’re actually below or right on par with the FDA approved dose! Dose=duration. I get at least 4-5 months of longevity with this dose, so I don’t inject myself that often.
With that said, Botox isn’t cookie cutter. I assess and map out each patient’s anatomy, muscle strength/location/movement, goals, and budget to come up with a realistic, yet effective, plan.

***Please note that in addition to a small amount of lip filler placed, I dissolved some migrated filler outside of the lips. This causes the upper lip to swell and look distorted in the photos. Once swelling subsides and the migrated filler is gone, she will have a natural-looking result*
Also, we added some Botox to her lower face to help relax that tense chin a little more - this will help it look less bumpy and upturned…a perfect compliment to the chin filler.

👁️Placing Botox in between the brows and along the sides of the eyes can make your eyes look bigger and brighter, in addition to reducing frown lines and crow’s feet wrinkles.
🍊Another lesser known area for Botox placement is the chin. It’s one of my favorite areas to Botox, because it helps relax the chin muscles from pulling upward, which contributes to a “squatty” appearance of the lower face, as I like to say 😂 This also decreases the appearance of the mental crease (aka the horizontal line across the chin) and dimpling (aka orange peel chin!)
