Salt and Light Salon

As the owner of a’la Mode Salon, I am humbled by the opportunity to have had such a wonderful business for almost 20 years. I have been surrounded by the best stylists, loyal customers and dearest friends. This salon has been a second family for all of us, but all good things must come to an end. That end is officially here for a’la Mode Salon. We will be closing our doors for good on September 26th. As a businesswoman, I was simply made an offer that I could not refuse and unfortunately for my salon family, this does not allow for us all to stay together. My staff is currently in the process of finding new salon homes and I am opening a boutique salon in a new location in Germantown. This year has brought a time of reflection on my life, career and future. It is time for something new and I am embracing the opportunity and blessings that I have received. On October 1st a’la Mode Salon will become Salt and Light Salon. We will update our social media pages with the location and phone number of all of our stylists as soon as everyone makes a decision on their future salon home.

Salt and Light Salon is the name of my new salon. There will be nothing in the current a’la Mode location.

We are opening on Wednesday May 6th!!!
We will offer hair services only at this time. Nail services and waxing services are NOT allowed in Germantown per the Shelby County Health Dept at this time. These will phase in as deemed safe.
We will have 50% staff and every other chair spacing. With one client per stylist instead of our usual three we will be able to easily maintain distance. The salon will not be it’s booming self, but it will be safe. We have always cleaned but now it will intense with styling areas cleaned in between each customer and the doors and common areas will be sanitized every 30 minutes. We will follow every requirement and have added a few our own safety precautions to our personal Covid-19 protocol.
Please call the salon or your stylist to get your appointment scheduled and to learn all about the new process. We can’t wait to see you again!

a’la Mode Salon is ready to open!!! A couple of municipalities have decided to open on May 6th. Germantown has NOT made a decision yet. We have been in contact with our Mayor and he is listening but he must consider the safety of our citizens first. We will respect his decision because our community and staff’s safety is our main priority. We submitted, to Mayor Palazzolo, our personal salon guidelines that we are adding in conjunction with the state issued salon specific guidelines. Again, safety for all is our priority. When your appointment is confirmed we will go over all of the guidelines so you will know what to expect. Germantown should have a decision or more information Monday. We will keep you updated.

Know you were missed terribly and your stylists is grateful for your return....

Know the importance of coming alone, extra people in a salon compromises everyone. 😔
Know your stylist cannot physically work 16 hour days 7 days a week, rest is essential for all..😴
Know your initial services will take more time. ⌚
Know that coming in sick isn't an option 😔
Know that walk-ins will not be an option for some salons- call the salon before you leave home.📞
Know that rescheduling hundreds of clients will take time...🤔⌚🤗🤗
Know that when you arrive you will need to wait until your stylist gives you the go ahead before entering the building, having your cell phone handy in your car will help considerably. 🤗
Know that your stylist is thrilled to see you but doesn't want or need a hug, your presence is the best hug ever. 😷🤗
Know that your health is the biggest concern. 🤗🤗🤗
Know that your stylist may choose to open at a later date than the state your in has allowed, being respectful of that decision takes an unimaginable load off his/ her brain and heart. 🤗
Know your stylist has already lost thousands of $$ and has no desire to replace it with a ventilator for either of you, be patient. ❤🤗
Know that if your health is already high risk, you need to wait, your health is more important..🤗🤗🤗🤗
Know that a 'soft opening ' will be anything but soft. 🙄
Know that your opinion of the entire situation won't change laws and rules necessary for everyone's safety are, keep the conversation to hair and how we can make you beautiful ❤🤗❤
Know that while trying to connect with your stylist there are hundreds of others attempting the same thing, responses will be slow coming as your stylist is preparing everything and answering everyone simultaneously 😳😳😳😳🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😉🤗

Happy Wednesday!! We have exciting news! Although we aren’t able to be in the salon with you just yet we are able to deliver all of your favorite products to your door on fridays! We just ask that you are within 15 miles driving distance from the salon. All you have to do is text the beautiful Sydnie at 9018255669 and she will have your goodies on your porch.
