Here is an interesting story for my fellow estheticians! ❗️Well, everyone can learn something from it. 🧐
Did an Enzyme Therapy on a very regular client the other day. She is not new to Enzyme Therapy and has been getting them regularly for at least 5-6 years. Enzyme Therapy, if you don't know, works with the lymphatic system, stimulating the lymphatic drainage (apart from so many other things it also does 😉). So, I got a text and a picture the next morning from my client that she woke up with horrible under eye bags and swelling. (Let me tell you, it didn't look good) 🙈 First time ever after Enzyme! We started brainstorming.....
Can you guess the most likely reason? 🤔
As it turned out, she went off of her diuretic high blood pressure medication. The side effect of doing it is rebound edema. Enzyme Therapy stimulated the lymphatic system (any facial massage or other treatment working with the lymphatic system would have done the same!), her body just couldn't cope with the obligatory load and she ended up with edema on her face.☝️
She was ok after a few days ( with the help of some home gua sha and lymphatic drainage 😀).
But I just can't get over the fact how wild and amazing our system is, how everything is connected and how one thing effects the other. We can't, just can't treat skin separately from the rest of the body!

How do I protect my skin in a harsh, cold climate? 🥶 I must say I struggled a bit this time around. My ingredients are hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, D-panthenol, Aloe Vera, Evening Primrose, and a heavier moisturizer to protect skin’s barrier. I would double my efas and avoid hot showers (no matter how tempting it may sound).
