You know that feeling when you are waiting to get your hair done? You’re literally counting down the days, right?
Well I just wanted to let you know that it doesn’t go beyond me that my job is the type of job that people are looking forward to seeing me and having me do their hair.
Like WHAT?! 🤯
Let’s just say, it’s an amazing job.🤍
To be honest, I feel the same way about my clients! I get so excited when I see your name on my schedule. 🥰
Speaking of, are you needing an appointment? I only have a few appointments still available for this summer, so DM me to grab one before they’re all gone!

Did you know that getting haircuts regularly is crucial for healthy hair?
Split ends can REALLY affect the way your color looks, by dulling down your hair, causing frizz, and tangles galore! 😮
Sometimes all you really need is a little shaping, and your locks will look brand new! And other times, a trim isn't quite enough. Taking off just a weeee bit more can really make a difference- because if you don't get them all, next time you go for a haircut you will be right back at square one- taking off more than you wanted!
So, the question is, how do we prevent haircuts, and stick with "trims?"
💫 Go in for trims regularly (see my schedule recommendations below)
💫 Use Microfiber towels to dry your hair 🧖🏻♀️
💫 Pick up a deep conditioning mask ASAP (I am loving the Keune Masks atm)
💫 Sleep in a braid (this one especially for my long hair gals)
💫 Use a WetBrush before wetting your hair to shampoo it and use a detangler with your WetBrush after you towel dry (pro tip: keep an additional wet brush in your shower to work in your conditioner- start at the bottom!)
💫 Do your best to avoid your hair getting smushed and tangled by your purse strap- I know it sounds crazy, but it can make a huge impact!
I recommend never going more than 3 months without a cut or trim, and if you shampoo daily, use hot tools regularly, and/or have fine hair, you will need trims more often to keep your hair looking its best! (Not to mention, if you plan on growing your hair out, snipping those dead ends is essential!) 🤗

Have you ever felt kind of bored with your dark hair? 🤔
Like you are stuck staying more or less one-dimensional and your only alternative is going blonde? 🥵
Myth busted! I have so many tricks up my sleeve that can spice up your gorgeous locks. Such as…
✨Warming up your natural with a tinted gloss for intense shine
✨Soft balayage in the RIGHT places for maximum results
✨Enhancing your natural color with a little bit of dimension
This sweet gal wanted to add some fun dimension to her beautiful natural brunette locks and I am so happy I was able to help her find an alternative to “all over blonde highlights” that she had in the past (also known as, a huge commitment, a harsh regrowth, and a trip to the salon every month 🤦🏼♀️)
Have you been thinking of coloring your hair, but you aren’t sure where to start? Girl, I’ve got you! Check out my Sunkissed Color package on my New Guest page (link in bio) to learn more and see if something like this 👆🏻 would be right for you! 🤗

Did you know your hair is most fragile when wet? Especially if you have long hair, thin hair, colored hair, or if you are growing your hair out- here are some things to avoid 😉
🚩Going to bed
Sleeping on wet hair is not only bad for your hair (tossing/turning, pulling and snagging- not great for your hair especially when it’s wet!) it’s also bad for your scalp. Damp & dark places are a breeding ground for bacteria- your scalp is no different! Particularly if you have thick hair that takes forever to dry, sleeping with wet hair puts your scalp at risk for dandruff and fungal or bacterial infections. If you have to sleep with wet hair, I recommend at least blow drying your roots (the hair at your scalp) to avoid bacteria growth
🚩Rubbing your hair with a towel to “dry” it
I know we are always in rush! But the friction caused by rubbing your hair with your bath towel will lead to major breakage. Consider investing in a micro-fiber towel (much softer!) and gently squeezing the water out of your hair instead of rubbing it!
🚩Putting it up in a pony tail
Its tempting when you are running late to through your hair in a bun straight out of the shower- but it actually causes a lot of stress! You hair is stretched out when wet, so tension caused by a pony tail holder can only lead to breakage. If you HAVE to put it up, I recommend braiding your hair and tying it on the ends -they will be cut a lot sooner than the hair by your scalp!
Caring for your hair when wet will set you up for gorgeous hair in the long run 💕

When Allen first started coming to see me, she was looking for a change!
She was expecting her second bundle of joy, and hoping to transition from a solid blonde look to something needing less maintenance….
Luckily for me, a dear sweet client referred her to me, and I was so excited to help her on this journey! (Thank you Megan!🥰)
Over the past year, we have added lowlights to blend her natural color with the existing highlights, blended her new growth with color melts, and occasionally lightened a few pieces to bring everything together for the softest blend! 😍
Now, she comes in for her base color touch up, gloss and trim, and we only touch up her lighter pieces when she wants that extra pop! 🎉
Swipe to see her “before” from one year ago!

Ever wondered how to keep your color looking fresh between salon visits?
You’ve just made a big investment in your hair color… and I want to help you protect your investment with the best tools, products, and tips to use at home to get the most out of your look before it’s time for a touch up!
1- Always use a Thermal & UV protectant (using heat/ being the sun without protection causes the cuticle of your hair to open, letting some of the color molecules literally fall out of your hair. My favorite is Keune 2-phase spray (it has both UV & thermal protection, plus so much more- if you’ve sat in my chair, I’ve probably shown it to you! It’s my number one best seller)
2- Don’t use hot water to shampoo your hair (hot water causes the same damage as heat and UV rays! Use lukewarm-warm instead) and don’t shampoo every day (the more you shampoo, the quicker your color/glaze will fade)
3- Use professional salon products (drugstore hair products contain alcohols and harmful waxes, which dry out & buildup on your hair (causing dullness) and eventually cause breakage!) I carry a variety of products- & anything I don’t have on hand, I can order for you!
4- Turn down the temp on your flat/curling iron. No, really 😬 if you are using a styling iron over 320/360, you may be causing unnecessary damage to your hair- the majority of people don’t need super high temperatures to style their hair! (Ps. If you don’t know/can’t control what temperature your hot tool turns up to, THROW IT OUT! 9/10 times it’s too hot! Hot Tools and Babyliss are two great brands of styling tools)

Balayage + gloss + fresh cut = true love 💕
The best part is that this color will grow out flawlessly and this beauty won't have to lighten her ends for 9 - 12 months if she likes this rootier look.
Looking for a low maintenance color? I've got you covered 😍

One of the biggest issues I try to solve behind the chair is all the myths around shampoo!
Did you know that...
Shampooing your hair every day teaches your scalp to produce MORE sebum.. which makes you feel like you need to shampoo it every day!
Using hot water when you shampoo stimulates the sebaceous glands in your scalp, causing it to produce more oil. Your hair will get just as clean by using warm or even cold water!
If you only shampoo your hair once, you are leaving behind a lot of dirt 🤭 Going for that 2nd shampoo will extend your results, gifting you more time between shampoos!
Shampoo is for your scalp.. conditioner is for your mids & ends. The hair on your scalp gets enough conditioning from the oils naturally released from your scalp- using conditioner too high up will be too heavy and could clog the pores on your scalp 😬
It takes about 3 months to break the cycle and normalize your scalp- so don’t give up! Now is the time to invest in dry shampoo- and head to Pinterest and learn some cute/easy/quick ways to wear your hair up for the in-between days.

Have you ever wondered… “what exactly IS a gloss/glaze/toner? Do I need one?” Let me explain!
Anytime we put lightener on your hair (highlights or balayage) we are left with what we call ‘raw lift.’ Depending on your hair history, hair texture, natural color, the shampoo and conditioner you use, and a few other factors, your ‘raw lift’ can be anywhere from gold, to yellow, to orange, or even red! And that’s probably not the color you came in for, right? 😵💫
So how does everyone not walk around with orangey hair? This is where a glaze comes in! It can either enhance the natural lift, by shifting an orangey color to a warm brown or spicy copper or turn a light yellow into a shiny pearl blonde.
Glazes are generally a Semi/Demi permanent color and will fade over time. Permanent color is *too harsh* to be applied over previously lightened hair and will cause your hair to look dull & dry- not to mention it would cause your natural color to shift as well, so I never tone with permanent color!
Shampooing your hair less will help your glaze last longer- also using cold water, a thermal protectant, and the right kind of shampoo/conditioner! Of course, having super healthy hair is top priority for the best results- which is why I love recommended take home products to each and every guest! 💕
On top of adding/neutralizing a tone in your raw lift, a glaze also adds shine back into your hair by closing the cuticle (the outermost layer of your hair strand) and neutralizing the pH. This makes your hair look & feel softer too!
Once the glaze is completely gone, that’s when you come back to see me (usually 6-8 weeks)! It’s always fun to try something new, or we can reapply your original color- once it’s lifted, you have a few options! The only thing you can’t do with a glaze is go lighter- so if we can only lift your hair to orange/deep yellow, a glaze can’t turn your hair icy. But if you’re open to adding a little warmth instead of ash, it can look brighter!
I hope this clears up any questions you had about glazes, but as always you can send me a DM, drop a comment, or ask me next time you’re in my chair! I love sharing with you 💜

So, we all know I’m a stylist now, but do you know how I got here?
I am pretty sure it was destiny from the time I got my first American Girl doll. I always cared deeply about their hair! I loved styling them in all kinds of fun ways in a little makeshift salon in my bedroom!
For my 10th birthday all I wanted was to get my hair colored! And wow my dad was against that, but he lost that battle 😂 I tried every color I could get away with, thanks to my amazing stylist (the woman who inspired me to do hair! Thanks Judy 🥰)
I started cosmetology school when I was 17, after begging my mom to let me graduate high school early just so I could go as soon as possible (completely worth it!)
After 6 years of working in a few different salons and alongside some wonderful, inspiring stylists, I took a leap of faith in my business and decided to open a salon suite with the help of some amazing friends -and of course the support of my beautiful guests! 🤍
This month marks 2 years I’ve been in my own space, and it’s literally a dream come true. I am so grateful to all of you 🥰
My journey through the industry has been a dream and connecting with you all is the best adventure. I’m so excited for what the future holds!
Can you believe the transformation of my space from the day I signed my lease to now?? 💕

Want to know the secret to maintaining the perfect color all summer long? 🤫
It's a 3-part cocktail...
1 part Gloss (shaken, not stirred) applied by me, your stylist, once every 6-8 weeks 💆♀️ A Gloss seals the cuticle of your hair and will help protect it from absorbing the chlorines and other harsh chemicals while you're enjoying your vacay! We can always do a clear glaze or add some tone to enhance your color 😉
1 part UV Protectant (preferably one that includes a detangler and/or leave in conditioner) used before hitting the pool or heading out for your morning run! Bonus, this will help your Gloss last longer!
1 part Moisture and Repair Mask (aka, the chaser!) Sun, salt, and chlorines are tough on your hair! I highly recommend following your day by the pool with a good shampoo and deep conditioning mask to keep your hair hydrated 🥰

Are you going to be spending your summer days in the pool or at the beach? 🌴
I know that I am! But-are you making sure to prep your hair before diving in!?
Here’s some tips and tricks to keep your hair protected while swimming in the pool 👙
⫸ Rinsing you hair with non-chlorinated water BEFORE you hop in the pool prevents your hair from absorbing as many chemicals
⫸ Use a leave-in conditioner (or even a regular conditioner 👀) as a barrier to close the cuticle of your hair and prevent color fade-age, while keeping your hair super soft and silky while you’re in the pool!
⫸ Did you know there is sunscreen for your hair? UV protection is very important, especially for anyone who has colored hair! The heat from the sun will break up the molecules in your hair, and they will not bond back to together in the same way, leaving your hair more vulnerable to breakage and color molecules can slip out more easily. My favorite is the Keune 2-Phase Spray, which also has a leave in conditioner!
⫸ Always follow a swim with a clarifying shampoo (the Weekender by Unite is my favorite) and deep conditioning mask (Keune Vital Nutrition Deep Conditioning Mask is ah-mazing) to revive your hair and get back to its healthiest state 🧡
💫 Did you know a saltwater pool still has a decent amount of chlorine? So even though it is technically better for you, it’s still not great for your hair!
Stay safe out there in the sun ladies! 🌞
