I don't care about my analytics.

Well, not in the way you think. 👀

I set my own metrics that I go off of.

We have been conditioned to care about the number of views, likes, saves comments, shares...

Here are the metrics you should be concerned about and set for yourself: leads captured, consults booked, deposits paid...

Each month I set a goal on each of these, a number I want to reach. I look back at the previous month and see if I hit my goal. If not, what do I need to do/ change to get there with my content moving forward.

The truth is someone could have crazy reach, likes, shares, saves, and still not convert a single sale.

When you're feeling discouraged on social media and you feel like everyone else around you is blowing up, ask yourself, are you looking for growth on social media or sales?

Do you take time to set goals for your social media each month?

If you want your salon team to be successful on social media,

You have to be willing to walk the walk.

I love that said “you have to be willing to get your hands dirty and lead by example if you want your team to do socials.” I couldn’t agree more with this!

How can your team be successful with anything unless they have a leader guiding them?

When you choose to be in the fire with your team, doing hard challenges and things like that, it shows your team that you are truly that, a team!

If that is the culture you are trying to create in your space, here’s what Lacey suggests: create a social media commitment.

Why utilize the trigger word CTA?

2 reasons:

✨ It increases your comments on your post! This shows Instagram that your audience want to engage with you, and will continue to push your content out to new viewers.

✨ A non icky way to slide into someone’s DM’s! It’s a great way to start a conversation without the cold messaging approach.

So when do you utilize this?

The best posts to use this CTA are posts you are linking things for!

Example: forms, guides, pdf, links to products…

What most creatives don’t realize about their creativity

It’s not meant to stay consistent forever.

There are, and will be ebbs and flows.

I know it can feel frustrating. Why am I not getting new clients? Why are my views down on IG? Why am I attracting this person and not my ideal client?

A couple things may be happening.

It’s time for you to take a break. A complete break for social media. No consuming, no posting, a complete break. It’s time for a content cleanse.

Take the time to break apart your current content from the last 30 days.

Did it speak to who you are trying to attract? Would you be attracted to the content you put out? Would it be helpful to you? Or was it more a post just to post?

When you choose to take a complete rest, and really examine your content, that’s when new fresh ideas can come through.

When i do a content cleanse, i like to shake up my routine, get out of my usual patterns I can fall into. It allows me to actually think different.

I read a book, I go outside more, i do a different type of exercise, find a new podcast, these all help me gain a fresh perspective so i can come back to my content with fresh ideas.

When you focus on putting out quality vs quantity, your content will work for you even when you’re not in creation flow. (And the QUALITY of your leads will increase.)

If you’re not feeling inspired, starting to resent this space, take the break. It’s worth it in the long run.

What is your time worth?

As beauty professionals we are encouraging our potential and current clients to invest into our services. Are hair extensions, injections, and other beauty services necessary?

Maybe, but majority of the time they are an investment or a luxury.

It’s all about how you look at your day to day. What are you wanting to spend your time doing? What do you enjoy doing during your day?

Do you enjoy spending hours each week doing your hair, or are you looking for a way to decrease your time spent in front of the mirror but still want to have an incredible hairstyle? Hair extensions would be the perfect fit for you.

Summer is here and now you don’t want to wear makeup. You want the minimum makeup look all while still feeling confident sitting poolside, lash extensions are incredible for this!

When it comes to things inside your business, what do you love doing each day? What brings you joy? What are the things you absolutely dread?

Many times as a business owner, juggling all the tasks in the day can lead to not being about to give 110% to each task. Which turns into half assed results.

Many times it’s social media that gets the boot, but it’s the very thing that helps keep leads rolling into your business, it helps you grow and reach that next big dream of yours!

So if you want others to invest in your business, why are you not investing in areas that you don’t love as much?

If you want to see true growth inside your beauty business, get clear on the things you do really well with, can consistently keep up with and know the things that you don’t love pouring your energy into. The time sucks.

If you struggle sharing your personal stories on social, this post is for you.

Trust me this post was a huge ah ha moment for me a couple weeks ago.

I have always struggled with sharing my personal stories. I’ve always know that it was important to share them but never knew how to share them the right way.

The main thing you need to remember is when it comes to sharing your personal stories here, it’s meant to help cultivate better connections with your ideal client.

It helps humanize you and bridge the gap between virtual reality and reality. It’s especially important being apart of the beauty industry to bridge this gap.

You sharing your personal story helps you build trust with your ideal client.

Is there such thing as over sharing? For sure. Remember social media is meant to connect with your IDEAL client. Not the masses. So share stories that directly relate to your ideal client.

When you’re clear on who your speaking to, your messaging becomes quite simple.

Start today by identifying your ideal client, going into detail, and then writing down your stories you can share that will directly relate to them.

Repetition is key when it comes to creating content!

Here’s the thing, you follow hundreds of fellow beauty pros that are talking about the same things.

Heck you might even see 5 people post about how to brush their hair properly in the same day!

But here’s what you don’t stop & think about…

Your ideal client doesn’t follow many hairstylists like you do! They NEED to be educated, they NEED to see these posts more often.

So yeah 5 other people may have posted that today, but they way YOU speak about it and present the content may be just the thing that client needs to hear to finally book that appointment with you.

Stop overthinking your content.

Stop trying to go viral or reinvent the wheel when it comes to content.

Keep it simple.
