A break from lashes to make a special post to honor my amazing daughter who turned 18 today

Dear Ella,

Being your mom has been my biggest blessing. Time is flying by. I’m trying to hold onto every memory and embrace every moment I have with you. I went from changing your diapers and teaching you to walk to teaching you to drive and shopping for prom dresses. You light up any room the second you walk in. You are the kindest person I know. You make me want to be the best version of myself just so that I can be the best mom to you. You are growing up so fast. I’m not sad today because I know we have so many more life memories coming up. From prom dresses to wedding dress shopping. From changing your diapers to holding your hand when you are having a baby of your own. I will always be by your side. I can’t wait to see what the next chapters of life hold for you. You are truly special and I love you

What is a foreign fill?
This is a term used when a client comes to you for a fill with lash extensions on from another artist. You have two options here. You can turn them down and require a new full set or you can lash over the other lash artists work. Here are my recommendations for both options.
These recommendations are assuming that you are currently trying to grow your business and clientele. This means that customer service and professionalism are a must (as it always should be)

If you require a new full set..
- offer a free removal and/or a possible discounted set. It’s likely that this client has just spent money on a fill and is hesitant to have to pay for a new set when she is happy with her current lashes. Maybe her lash artist just had a baby and is taking an extended maternity leave, or moved away etc etc etc. There are many reasons why this client may be on the hunt for a new artist that has nothing to do with the quality of the work. She will likely choose a new artist that will work with her. Think of this from her point of view. She may not want to have to pay for and spend the time getting a whole new set so make it a little more enticing for her. Explain why you have this policy in place and extend a little discount to help ease the pain of having to get a whole new set. She may be your new favorite client!

Fill her lashes over the other artist work…
- explain to her that there may be a possibility of a required removal if the current work done does not meet your standards but allow her to book a fill.
- let her know that her lashes will look different because every artist has a different style.
- let her know that it will take a few fills for her to end up with all your work
-let her know that you can not guarantee the work done. Meaning that any retention problems etc will not be guaranteed by you since it is not 100% your work.

I personally take foreign fills. Some of my best clients have come to me with lashes on already.

EyeCandy Glam Lash Supply Turns 2!

It’s hard to believe that a little over a couple years ago I sat on a train on my way to San Diego with my husband and had a conversation that changed my business forever.

I was a lash artist at the time (still am) and saw a need for a lash line that simply made volume lashing easier. Something that lash artists would be proud to use and was made with the highest quality material. Something that would keep talented artist from giving up just because they struggled with making the perfect volume fans. I spent the next several months researching and dealing with manufacturers. I launched my prefanned lash line with less than 300 followers on IG. Zero business experience. A tiny office in my home where I also lashed clients from. I took all our savings at the time and invested in inventory. Can I just take a second to thank my husband for his support and encouragement!!! I am so incredibly proud of this little business of mine. I started EyeCandy Glam Lash Supplies a little over a year ago. It’s been a roller coaster for sure. Good days. Bad days. Days when I doubt everything. Days so full of confidence in what I’m doing. Imposter syndrome hits hard most days, but I push through because I know there is a need.
