✨ MEET THE MENAGERIE ✨

Okay, apparently I can’t make everyone else do these and then conveniently skip myself. 😂 So hi, I’m Hannah, owner of Menageries Salon Studio & Suites and Hair by Hannah Lynette!

✨ What do I do?
I specialize in custom color, blondes, color corrections and hand tied extensions. Basically, I love anything that gives me a good before and after.

✨How long have I been in the industry?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for 7 years and became a licensed cosmetologist in 2020. I opened Menageries in July of 2023, which still feels crazy to say.

✨My favorite services?
COLOR. Give me a transformation, a correction, a blonde that needs some love or a client who sits down and says, “I trust you.” Those are my favorite appointments.

✨What kind of clients do I want more of?
Honestly, people I can be myself with. I love clients who come in, get comfortable, tell me everything that has happened since their last appointment and trust me with their hair. If you like pretty hair and good conversation, we’re probably going to get along!

✨What do I love most about what I do?
The relationships. Hands down. Obviously I love doing hair, but some of my clients have been with me through so many different stages of life. We’ve celebrated together, cried together, talked each other off ledges and laughed until our stomachs hurt. I genuinely love my people. 💜

✨Three words my clients would use to describe me?
Chaotic. Honest. Genuine.

✨My drink order?
Medium iced Mountain Morning, DOUBLE flavor, caramel drizzle from City Brew. Liquid IV or Alani!

✨Current obsession?
Completing the new house we just bought, redesigning my salon suite, planning my June 2027 wedding and the Lindsey Clancy case 🤪

✨Random fact about me?
I’m only 5’1, so picking a career that requires me to see the top of peoples heads was an interesting choice and I’m very superstitious!

✨Guilty pleasure?
Getting up in the middle of the night and eating candy 😬😬

✨What am I doing when I’m not working?
Usually spending time with Christian and our four kids, taking care of our small zoo, running kids around, planning the wedding, finding another project I definitely didn’t need to start or rotting in my bed because that’s my favorite thing to do. We have an amazing group of friends that we also try to spend as much time with as we can!

✨ And something new clients should know about me?
I want you to feel comfortable in my chair. You do not have to show up dressed up, talk the entire appointment or be anything other than yourself. Come in sweats, bring a snack, vent about your life, sit quietly, laugh until you cry, I truly do not care. My goal is for you to leave feeling better than you did when you walked in… and obviously with really good hair.

Owning Menageries has been one of the most stressful, rewarding, chaotic and amazing things I’ve ever done. I’m incredibly proud of what this place has become and even more proud of the people who have chosen to build their businesses here.

Today we’re introducing Tucker Whelchel • lash artist, nail girl, pedicure provider and currently… very tired pregnant lady. 💜💜

Tucker has been in the beauty industry for ELEVEN years and while she does nails, pedicures and lash extensions, lashes have her heart. 🤍

✨What does she love most about her job?

“BSing with my friends all day.” 😂

Which honestly tells you everything you need to know about sitting in Tucker’s chair. Come for the lashes, stay because somehow your appointment turned into a therapy session, gossip hour and life update.

✨ We asked her for three words her clients would use to describe her and she gave us:

“Empathetic, kind, exhausted.” 😅

Heavy on the exhausted right now because she’s growing an entire human.

Her pregnancy personality currently consists of eating, sleeping, and caramel frappes. If she’s going to Starbucks, it’s specifically a Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino. Do not bring this woman a plain coffee.

And apparently pregnancy has only strengthened Tucker’s commitment to her most questionable food combinations.

Bacon + peanut butter? Yes.
Pickles + peanut butter? Absolutely.
Basically anything + peanut butter? Tucker will probably eat it. 🤣

✨Plot twist you probably wouldn’t expect:
Tucker actually grew up on ranches for the first part of her life. 🐮🤠

Yes. THAT Tucker.

✨ When she isn’t at the salon?
She’s most likely watching horror movies or shows, eating something involving peanut butter, or sleeping.

After 11 years in the industry, Tucker has built the kind of clientele where appointments don’t really feel like appointments anymore, they feel like hanging out with friends.

✨What is your business name and what services do you offer?

Tito — Menageries Salon Dog.

I specialize in greeting clients, supervising the salon, begging for snacks and collecting the mandatory pet tax before allowing clients to continue to their service provider’s room.

Payment is accepted exclusively in belly rubs. No exceptions.

✨How long have you been in the industry?

I’ve been running a salon since the day I got off my birth mom’s ni**le. This is all I know.

✨What is your specialty/favorite service to perform?

Begging.

Do I actually want what you’re eating? That depends. I’m extremely picky.

But do I still deserve the opportunity to sniff it, decide I don’t want it and then look at you like you’re the problem?

Absolutely.

✨What type of client would you LOVE to have more of?

Clients who understand that their appointment cannot begin until the pet tax has been paid.

Bonus points if you tell me I’m the bestest, most handsome boy while doing it. Because I am.

✨What do you love most about what you do?

The work life balance. I sleep when I want, beg when I want and bully my fellow professionals when I need something.

✨What are 3 words your clients would use to describe you?

Lazy. Handsome. Demanding

✨What’s your drink order?

Water.

Unlike my food, I try not to be difficult about everything.

✨What’s your current obsession?

Belly rubs, selective snacking, being told how handsome I am and sleeping on company time.

✨What’s a random or fun fact about you?

I almost never bark.

Unless I need to go outside.

Then I select one person to bully and bark directly at them until they get up and take me.

I don’t make the rules.

Actually… yes I do.

✨What’s your guilty pleasure?

Begging for food that I will ultimately decide isn’t good enough for me.

I don’t necessarily want your food. I just need to know that I could have it.

✨What do you like to do when you’re not working?

Considering I don’t really work when I am working…

Sleep.

✨What should new clients know about you?

When you enter Menageries, you may think you’re here to see your stylist, nail tech, tattoo artist or other service provider.

Incorrect.

You’re here to see me first.

Stop. Pay the pet tax. Rub the belly. Tell me I’m handsome.

Then you may proceed.

Despite his questionable work ethic, excessive napping, selective palate and complete lack of financial contribution to Menageries, Tito remains completely unfireable.

Because at the end of the day, he really is the bestest, sweetest, most handsome boy in the whole salon.

Introducing our newest member of the crew!!

If you’re looking for gorgeous nails, good conversation and someone who genuinely cares about the person sitting across from her meet Kristina, the face behind Polished by Kristina! 🩷

Kristina has been a licensed cosmetologist for 6 years, but she figured out pretty quickly that hair was NOT her calling. 😂 Give this girl all the nails!

You’ll usually find her spending time with her man and family, working on a puzzle, or fully invested in a good true crime documentary.

But our favorite thing Kristina said was what she wants every new client to know:

✨Come on the good day AND the bad day. In fact, call her on the bad day. She’s going to do her best to get you in, give you a space to be yourself and at the very least put a smile on your face.

Meet Amy Long, the woman behind Hair Therapy by Amy 🤍

With 22 years in the beauty industry and licensed since 2004, Amy brings a whole lot of experience, personality and heart to Menageries. She offers hair services, extensions and facial waxing but if you ask her what her favorite service is, the answer is simple, anything that makes her clients smile!

Amy LOVES a good transformation, but beautiful hair isn’t enough, keeping her clients hair healthy is always a priority. She also loves educating her clients so they know exactly how to maintain that healthy, gorgeous hair once they leave her chair.

✨Her ideal client?
Someone who loves good conversation, beautiful healthy hair and a stylist they can completely be themselves around. Amy’s room is a judgment free zone. She’s open, honest and wants her clients to feel safe talking to her about absolutely anything. Her motto is, “ come at me with anything and we will find a solution together!”

If her clients had to describe her in three words, they’d probably say:

But one of our favorite things about Amy is something you may not know!! For almost 10 years, she has traveled to the Sundance nursing home once a month to provide hair services to the residents. 🤍

Outside of work, Amy is a self proclaimed homebody unless she’s camping! She loves spending time with her husband of 21 years, Josh, and their almost 20 year old son, Wyatt. She also lives next door to her parents and spends lots of time with them and with neighbors who have become family.

After 22 years in this industry, Amy still genuinely loves making people feel beautiful, helping them relax, educating them about their hair and creating a space where they can just come as they are.

With 15 years of tattooing experience, Darren has built his career across Colorado, Wyoming, Michigan, Montana, South Dakota, and Missouri, bringing a whole lot of experience, versatility and creativity to Menageries.

✨His style? A little bit of everything.
Traditional • Neo-Traditional • Realism • Color • Black & Grey • Ornamental • Art Nouveau • Abstract

While black & grey realism, anime, neo-traditional and ornamental are some of his favorites, he loves trying new styles and concepts. He also loves a good cover up and welcomes both new and returning clients!

✨What he loves most about tattooing:
Creating art that people get to cherish forever, whether it holds a deep meaning or they simply love the design. Just as importantly, he wants the experience itself to be fun, comfortable and something you actually enjoy.
