Happy New Year!!!! Wow, 2026!!!! First and foremost I need to say thank you to each and every client that has supported my small business throughout the years. Being in TN has been a blast! I got to do Auntie Retta’s hair and it turned out even better than I had hoped for! I told her I will be back in a few months to give it a little touch up (gives me more reason to come back lol) so here are some before and afters! Enjoy!!!

Let’s break these down!
1. Clean vs dirty hair. Now I’ll probably ruffle some feathers with this one but my preference is that you come to your appointment with clean hair and here’s why! Your day 2, 3, 4, hair has build up on it. Whether that be sebum, dry shampoo, root spray, or hair spray those things can (but not always) cause a barrier between me and your finished result. So when in doubt, wash your mane before your appointment. But I will never scold you if you have to get a gym session in before our appointment or you just couldn’t fit a wash in your schedule. It’s just my preference and what I’d recommend. You do you boo. 🥰
2. Purple vs. clarifying shampoo. Purple shampoo is designed to neutralize yellow tones. It does not lighten the hair or make you more blond. Over use can actually have the opposite results causing your blond to appear dull. Clarifying shampoo is designed to rid your hair of impurities, creating a reset for your hair and often times after use can make your hair appear brighter! I would recommend a clarify shampoo before you come for a color session!
3. Inspiration vs. Reality. I love inspiration pictures!!! It helps me break down what you like and don’t like about the hair. I find more often than not my clients only like a couple things about the picture after we break it down together. Keep in mind I’m not a computer, and every head of hair is different so copy and paste is not always an option. Here are some things to keep in mind when you are searching for inspiration pics. Find a picture where the person has the same natural root as you, skin tone as you and is close in eye color to you. This can help end results feel more similar to your inspiration picture! 02/25/2024
