New lambs, fresh wool, and the start of another season of making.

Everything we create begins here – with the sheep, the land, and the rhythms of the farm. is where our sheep milk and raw wool come from, and the inspiration behind everything we make.

And yes, Honor the lamb is settling into the flock quite well. She loves her bottle and is now eating hay like the others. We think her mom recognizes her… although she hasn’t accepted her back.

Lanolin Salve has quietly become one of the most-requested products we make, and for good reason. Yes, it smells like a sheep. And a little goes a long way – a single jar can last months or even years.

Lanolin is what sheep produce to protect their wool from the elements. It’s been used since ancient Greece and Egypt for healing and skin care, and it’s used now for the same reason it worked then: it’s naturally water-resistant and waxy, which means it sits on top of your skin to seal in moisture – not quickly absorb into it. That’s what makes it so effective. It’s especially loved by bakers, nursing moms, pet owners, and anyone who works with their hands.

Because lanolin isn’t currently made domestically in bulk or to the quality we need, we source EP-grade lanolin—the same purity level approved for breastfeeding. Ours is 100% lanolin. No fillers, no petroleum, nothing else.

If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s a good time. We’re restocked and ready.

2026 is the year of finally experimenting with and developing a new line of lanolin-based skincare – with the goal of creating lotion bars, a diaper balm, lip balm, a lighter salve, and more through trial and error.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been testing formulations tweaking ratios with , and figuring out what works best for my skin (as tester #1!). Now I’m looking for a small group of people to try the products and share honest feedback via a short survey.

If you’re interested in being part of the process, sign up with the link in our bio. Samples are free, but I’m asking for $10 to cover shipping.

As we close out the year, I hope for gentle days – the kind this illustration by reminds me of. It brings me back to childhood afternoons in my hometown’s Colonial houses (and yes, dropping CDs into the Underground Railroad tunnels), avoiding the needlepoint my grandmother desperately wanted me to love, but falling for crafting nonetheless.

We’ll be working behind the scenes until the new year, and we’d love to see you at the Wayland Farm & Fiber Days at Russell’s Garden Center on January 18th. Here’s to a slower, more grounded year ahead. Merry everything from Leah & the sheep 🐑

The History: The Avon Soap Bar was inspired by my childhood making wreaths with my grandparents. We used to travel around and cut branches in different friends and neighbors’ yards to sell them at the annual church fair that my grandmother organized. It is named for the town where my grandfather grew up (Avon, Connecticut).

The Bar: This soap is handcrafted in small batches. It is scented with cedarwood and fir essential oils and features ground coffee beans for light exfoliation.

The Ingredients: olive oil, coconut oil, distilled water, sustainable palm oil, lye, almond oil, shea butter, sheep milk, coffee grounds, our blend of essential oils, and French green clay.
