Excess hair growth on a woman's body is a very common condition called hirsutism. It is usually found in areas of the body sensitive to male hormones called androgens. Most hirsutism starts around puberty as a result of hormonal changes. Hypertrichosis is abnormal amounts of growth. This condition could be hereditary, a result of medication, illness, emotional changes, etc. No matter the cause, excessive hair growth is uncomfortable. For years my husband has been insecure about the growth pattern on the back of his neck. He has some of the thickest, straightest hair I know which grows quickly too. He could easily get a haircut every 4 weeks to keep it the way he likes it and in between ask me to help him shave his neck.
Finally I convinced him to give laser hair removal a try. Now, laser hair removal takes multiple treatments (6-10),but these results are after just 1! I took this picture 2 weeks after his first treatment which is roughly the time he would ask me to shave his neck. You can clearly see how it is breaking it down.
