Here is one last thing to consider when you’re deciding what wig density is most suited to you:

Your natural hair: If you’re trying to achieve a look that closely resembles your natural hair, invest in a unit with wig density that’s closest to your own. Not sure what your hair density is? Try smoothing out your hair and pulling it into a ponytail. Then wrap a flexible measuring tape around the ponytail. If it’s less than 3 inches, your hair is lighter. If it’s more than 3 inches, it’s denser.

This applies to box braids, crochet braids, cornrows, and any other style where the hair is sewn down or kept in a locked position on your scalp. Yes, I get that this style cost $100 or $200, or how ever much it was, but you absolutely need to cleanse your scalp and let it breathe.
