Good morning all!!! I wanted to say thank you for following me and continuing to support my small business I am so grateful to all my clients past, present and recurring by helping me make my dreams come true to be solely self employed. With the permission of a client I want to take this time to educate and advise people. I massaged a new client and she told me she had a horrific massage experience a few weeks ago. My first thoughts were "oh no not another no pain, no gain therapist" instead what I was told was this "therapist straddled her neck, used techniques that an amateur chiropractor would use, she felt assaulted and asked the "therapist " to stop the session.

This really does happen to people and it's absolutely NOT ACCEPTABLE. There are too many "massage parlors" impersonating LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPISTS. These people are not trained, don't know what they are doing and can genuinely hurt people.

The only recourse to get these "parlors and people" closed down is report the facility to the state board of massage therapy in your state, if they require licensing. Make a police report because ;
1. They are illegally massaging people and charging for it.
2. You may have been sexually/physically/mentally or emotionally assaulted and don't know it.
3. The parlor likely doesn't carry any liability insurance in case of an injury and therefore you cannot make a claim to their insurance.

Please do your research when hiring a massage therapist, you can search their name on the state board of massage therapy and see if there are any pending investigations/allegations or of they are who they say they are.

In eight years of being a mobile massage therapist I'm genuinely shocked nobody has ever asked me for my credentials/licenses/liability insurance.

I just wanted to educate and keep people informed, you have rights if something has happened to you or someone you know.
