It was an absolute pleasure learning coloring and styling techniques from Aveda’s Artistic Director for Texture!!!!

Naomi shared stories of growing up always chasing “beautiful hair” which meant smooth and shinny hair. How she never felt comfortable going to the salon because the stylists didn’t know how to do her hair and only a couple years ago she embraced her natural texture. And she was nervous to show people her natural texture!! (Which is gorgeous by the way)

After 15 years of doing hair, I am far from knowing everything. (That’s the best thing about this industry.) Something that I think is very important is inclusivity. Hair is not a race. It is a fabric that once you break it down, learn techniques, and properly treat it, you can do some beautiful things.

Stay tuned for my continued growth. I definitely don’t know everything and never will, but it’s a fun journey to be on! 💗
