Life’s a little crazy…

As many of you know, my husband’s time in the Navy is coming to a close. With that change, comes even bigger ones. It hurts my heart to write this but… we will be moving to Tennessee!🏡

To every client who has trusted me with your hair, shared your stories in my chair, celebrated milestones with me, and supported my small business over the years—thank you. You’ve been so much more than clients. You’ve become friends, and I’m incredibly grateful for every appointment, conversation, and memory we’ve made together.🫶🏼

My last day behind the chair will be October 16th.💇‍♀️

My books will be open until 10/16 but they are filling SO quickly as this news is spreading. If you need an appointment or two before we go, PLEASE get on the schedule soon! ❤️

This isn’t necessarily goodbye forever. I plan to come back to Charleston for pop-up salon weekends when I can, so hopefully this is more of a “see you later.” I’ll be sure to share those dates as they come together!

I’m so excited for this next chapter, but Charleston will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you all for making my time here count. ❤️

Here’s to new adventures, new roots, and staying connected no matter the miles.

With love,
Jessica ✨

Is it really “just a haircut” when you leave feeling on top of the world?

This is a long read. Buckle up.

Holy guacamole 🥑 what a PROCESS this was! But SO rewarding.😍

Working on a platinum blonde with 3.5inches of dark roots is no joke. Hours of back and forth blonding/rinsing with olaplex and k18 helping every step of the way. Pivoting when lightener was no longer the best choice. Formulating on the fly and deviating from the original gameplan. Discussing future appointments and at home maintenance. Toning, vivid color painting, and cutting off old ends. The whole thing was so fun and so rewarding. But it was absolutely one of those “hair science doesn’t always stay textbook easy” kind of appointments…🫪

Her roots were lifting beautifully. Started this whole process in the back, low and slow lift, utilizing super gentle on scalp lightener, it was going SO perfectly. No irritation, no banding, gorgeous lift. When we got to the front, we had the unexpected happen- her scalp suddenly disliked the lightener. 💀

Now, I personally don’t mess around with chemicals. Irritation is never okay with me because your hair and scalp integrity will always come first. So we rinsed out lightener that was not yet lifted like the last 3/4’s of her head. And THEN, we had some brainstorming to do. 🧠

We were left with a perfectly platinum back, one front section 90% done with a band of bright blorange roots and platinum ends, and the other side still virgin roots with platinum ends. 🫠

Platinum all the way up was the goal but that was out of the picture and we had a full blown color correction on our hands. We decided that symmetry was the best bet. So we packed in back to back foils on her virgin side, lifted it to match the blorange roots on the other side, did two separate root melts (one on the blorange tones and one on the platinum), and glossed everything else to create a soft shadow root that was even all the way around. 🥵 SO MANY STEPS.

Did it look scary? Yes. BUT did it work? YES. Where there’s a colorwheel , there’s a way!💪🏼 She put every ounce of trust in me, and for that, I am so grateful.🥹🫶🏼 We put in some pops of vivids, 7.5 hours in, and we FINALLY reached the goal- healthy, bright, fairy hair.🤩🥳💗💜

The end. 🤪
