Two ways to use our Rosemary Hair Oil 🌿

Whether you're looking to nourish your scalp and promote hair growth or smooth dry ends, this versatile botanical oil can become a simple part of your hair care routine.

Use as a hair oil by smoothing through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Apply on damp or dry hair to tame frizz, add shine, and lock in moisture.

Promote healthy hair growth by applying a few drops directly to the scalp and massaging gently. Leave on for at least 20 minutes, or overnight for a deeper treatment, before washing as usual.

Crafted in small batches with rosemary and a lightweight blend of botanical oils, this formula helps support a healthy scalp and promotes growth while leaving hair feeling soft, manageable, and naturally radiant.

A lot goes into making a batch of Shower Steamers!

Here’s a little behind the scenes of the small-batch production process here at Unearthed Naturals.

First things first, I weigh out the core base ingredients in mason jars. Followed by essential oil, which gives each variety of steamer its fragrance.

Then it’s time for mold prep, where each tray gets a touch of botanical goodness!

The next step is where the magic happens: a spritz of witch hazel until the mixture is the perfect consistency! This piece of the puzzle was the hardest to master. Too wet and the steamers expand, making for a messy mistake. Too dry, and they crumble and crack. This means a lot of counting each pull of the spray bottle!

A cookie scoop helps me keep each steamer consistent in size, and an espresso tamper helps me press each steamer individually. If you’re thinking, "Wow, this is a hands-on process”…that’s because it is!

The job isn’t over yet! Before I can get to order fulfillment, there’s a 24-hour waiting period while the trays are set out to dry. Like most good things, this process takes time!

The last stages include popping the steamers out of their molds, followed by a quick quality check before packing them individually, in four-packs, and even in bulk!

Finally, we reach the best stage of the process, shipping them out to YOU!

I’m excited to show you a little behind-the-scenes look at what it actually takes to bring a new product to life.

Like most good things, my curiosity is usually sparked by a question or an idea. Then comes research. Digging through herbalism books, trusted resources, and scientific studies to understand the plants I’m working with and why they work. Asking the questions: Can this be done naturally? Can I create something shelf-stable and effective without relying on artificial ingredients, preservatives, or chemicals?

Once I have a direction, the testing begins.

Testing. Tweaking. Remaking. Researching again. Trial and error is a huge part of this stage. It’s not glamorous, and it’s usually messy, but it’s how a recipe slowly becomes something real.

When a formula finally feels right, I move on to the next challenge: packaging.

What container protects the product best? Should I use glass? Can paper withstand the natural oils? Is plastic the best option? I have to weigh the pros and cons of each. Deciding is rarely straightforward, and each option involves compromises. Then comes sourcing containers, figuring out order quantities, and balancing the tricky math of keeping costs manageable without investing too much into something that hasn’t even launched yet.

As a one-woman operation, I’m also the graphic designer. Once the design is finalized, I order the labels. It's the same story — the more you order, the cheaper they are… but that also means taking a bigger risk upfront. And there is no perfect number. Order too many, that’s money lost. Order too little and need to reorder, my shipping times grow longer.

Once everything finally arrives, I make the first small batch. I’m also the photographer, the copywriter, and the web designer. This is the stage of hours spent behind a screen. The final push.

Then one day… I hit publish, and it’s out in the world.

It’s hard. It’s scary. It’s time-consuming. But it’s also incredibly fun to get to create, experiment, and share what I’m making with all of you. And this little project is getting closer to having her moment.
