🧠 Are You “Friends” with Your Kids? 🧠 I think she makes an interesting point that our kids aren’t always going to be happy with our decisions or guidelines. And when we parent, it’s oftentimes counter to what our kids want. This does in a sense mean we aren’t technically their friends. I have heard people say if your kids aren’t ever upset with you, you’re not doing a good job as a parent. I also think there is an important message in here about helping prepare kids for adversity and building resilience in them. Not being their “friend” doesn’t mean we stop having unconditional love for them.
