Yesterday's foraging expedition was very fungi focused! 🍄🍄‍🟫
With the rains and cooler temperatures I would say Fall Mushroom season has begun! We're getting to the end of Strawberry season as things begin the change on the Grand Mesa but the raspberries, huckleberries, choke cherries, and red elderberry are all still abundant. If you attended class 6 last year you can see the raspberry canes coming up from the areas we had tended in the very last photo and while the canes didn't bear fruit in their first year, it's exciting to see the growth of native plant life and the positive impact on our foraging patches throughout the years that were fairly sparse when we began in the 2023 season.

Its a beautiful August morning here at the Fruita Farmers Market ! We're pretty low on our bath soaks, 1oz salves and sugar scrubs so if you were waiting for one I'd come quick! We're completely sold out of lip balm, face moisturizer, and whipped body butter. We should have more made by our Tuesday market in Glenwood Springs.

We had an amazing class today! We found a ton of strawberries, raspberries, huckleberries, red elderberry, hawks wings fungi, wild onions, and more! Whelp folks I can say that this is the first time in 4 years I've ever had to mark an expedition as "out of stock" while I make a roster because the tickets are booking super fast and I've gotta make sure I can fit all of the vehicles safely.
