I woke up with a heavy heart. Today Mom would have been 81 and my Grandson Luca turned 1.

Normally the nostalgic sentimental connection would bring me comfort and put a smile on my face, but instead, it is a source of sorrow.

What I wouldn’t give to be able to spend time Mom and Luca today. Mom absolutely adored babies. They brought her so much joy. I know it would be no different here, and she would have loved him a little extra because they shared a birthday. 💞I can hear and see her doting on him and excitingly telling him about how they share a very special day in my mind.

I wish I could ask you for advice on how to fix what’s broken Mom. I made sure to show the same love, kindness, grace, and acceptance I learned from the love you always showed me. I tried so hard and was left with nothing more than a broken heart and a painful reminder of just how cruel the universe can be. It hurts. A. Lot.

These pictures normally give me comfort and make me laugh but today they are reminding me of the different kinds of grief; the kind you feel when someone so special passes away, and the kind you feel from being rejected by people you’ve shown nothing but love to. Today the pictures are breaking me. 😔

Happy 1st Birthday sweet Luca. I hope someday I will get to dote on you, tell funny stories about your Dad’s side of the family, and share memories and favorite traditions of your Colorado family. 🩵

Happy Heavenly 81st Birthday Mom. I really wish I could ask for your advice one more time and have one more hug from you. I miss you so so much, and definitely a lot more on days like today.🤍

I may have JUST found this in my pile of mail 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I’m SUPER impressed they took the time to keep a dying art alive by writing a note the ol fashioned way. Well done everyone !

So there I was, interrupting my kids water therapy Zen alone 🛀 time cuz my had to p*e, again, when…

All the boy dogs decided to join the party and THEN decided they were the alpha boss of said party. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Obviously each boy thought they were the one and only top dog and had to sling some testosterone to prove it while I LITERALLY just pulled my pants down to p*e… (you’re welcome for THAT image). 🙄

Everyone survived but my middle finger managed to get the worst of it and was bleeding like a stuck pig. 😑

Grabbed my trusty Helichrysum and applied one drop to the bleeding wound. Usually I just need to use this oil for nose 👃 bleeds during dry weather but clearly it works for more than that! The bleeding stopped pretty much instantaneously. 🤯

Oils for the win like I always say and what not, but honestly, I really didn’t need the reminder on how effective plant juice is…
