🏈❤️ WHAT A NIGHT AT THE FOOTBALL GAME! ❤️🏈

We had SO much fun last night at the high school football game! Grand Junction High School vs. Central High School started out as a GREAT game, especially those first and second quarters! Then… well… things took a turn, and Central ended the night down 6–31! 😬😂

But honestly? The score didn't matter nearly as much as the memories we made! ❤️

We started the evening with Subway for dinner 🥪, headed to the game, and cheered our hearts out! We had plenty of laughs, jokes, and good conversations… even when that WIND decided to take over for a solid 45 minutes! 🌬️😂

Our residents made the night even more special by cheering on the Central High School cheerleaders, because our Resident Engagement Director's daughter is on the team! 📣❤️

And then we had another reason to cheer… Grand Junction High School! Our Executive Director's son is a senior and plays football for Junction — #52! 🏈💙

So yes… we were a little divided! 😂 We had reasons to cheer for BOTH sides!

And just when we thought the night couldn't get any better, Rick decided to sneak everyone out early before the crowd hit and took them for ICE CREAM! 🍦😂❤️

The laughter, the jokes, the cheering, the excitement, and just watching our residents have such a genuinely FUN night and made it one we won't forget anytime soon.

And apparently, we're not done yet… because they are ALREADY planning the next football adventure! 😂🏈 They definitely want to make it to a Junction home game, and the plans for our next game night are already underway!

Sometimes it's not about who wins or loses.

It's about the people you're with, the memories you make, and the laughter you take home with you. ❤️

August 23rd is on a Sunday so, we are giving a HUGE birthday shout-out to our incredible Business Office Manager, Becky!! ❤️🥳

If you know Becky, you know that she is SO much more than her title. She is one of those truly special people who can somehow be everywhere, helping with everything, and still putting our residents first. 💕

She shows up for our residents.
She shows up for our team.
She shows up for our community.
And somehow… she even shows up in a costume for just about every activity! 😂🎭

Whether she is helping behind the scenes, jumping in wherever she is needed, making our residents smile, solving a problem, lending a hand, or joining in on the fun, Becky is the definition of a TEAM PLAYER and truly a person of all trades! 🙌❤️

She brings kindness, laughter, creativity, compassion, and a whole lot of heart to Mesa View. She is always willing to help, always ready to participate, and always finds a way to make a difference.

Becky, you are an absolute BLESSING to our community, and we are so incredibly grateful for everything you do! 🥰

We hope today you feel just how loved, appreciated, and valued you truly are—not only by your coworkers, but by the residents whose lives you touch every single day. ❤️

This was something new, something different, and something we thought would be FUN! 🎉💪

Today at Mesa View, we tried something a little outside the box with Pool Noodle Exercise! 🏊‍♀️😂

And of course… some of our residents decided the pool noodles were better used against one another BEFORE we even got started! 🤣 They had us laughing from the very beginning!

Sometimes the best way to start the day is with a little movement, a lot of laughter, and some good old-fashioned fun! ❤️

A HUGE thank you to Sarah #2 for bringing something fun, creative, and different to the table! We appreciate you helping us keep things fresh and giving our residents new ways to move, laugh, and enjoy time together! 🥰

There can be so much in the world we live in today that we unknowingly take for granted.

Here at Mesa View we have on our calendar, Arts & Crafts, but is now called Creative Moments because we want every moment that we come together to be something different—something creative, something meaningful, and maybe even something fun! 💕

After what felt like a very full and busy week, we wanted to end it with something simple:

“Start with Gratitude.” ❤️

Boy, was that ever a hit.

What touched this place most was hearing how strongly our residents felt that spreading gratitude throughout our community was something worth doing. They believe our words, our kindness, and the little reminders we give one another can truly make a difference.

So, that’s exactly what we did.

We may have started with a small group today, but that small group can become a bigger group next week. Those words might reach someone who really needed to hear them. Maybe, just maybe, one simple reminder of gratitude will continue to spread farther than we ever imagined.

Sometimes, it only takes a few people to start something meaningful.

Start with gratitude.
Share it.
Spread it.
Never underestimate the difference your words can make. ❤️

Although the event time was shortened by a little more than an hour, we are truly sorry for that — but the turnout itself was HUGE, SUCCESSFUL, and absolutely BEAUTIFUL! What an incredible day!

From classic cars and trucks to motorcycles, different models, incredible builds, and so many amazing owners… my goodness, we were simply AMAZED! 🤩

40 amazing displays filled our community, and we cannot thank every single owner enough for bringing their pride and joy out for our residents and community to enjoy. You all helped make today something incredibly special. ❤️

And we have to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT TO OUR STAFF! 👏🏼

Today would not have happened without their hard work, dedication, teamwork, and willingness to jump in wherever they were needed. Watching our team es**rt guests from public parking over in a Can-Am, helping Paratransit safely navigate in and out of our parking lot, feeding everyone, helping our guests, keeping things moving, and doing whatever needed to be done — THAT is what makes this community so special.

The donations were an ABSOLUTE HIT, and we are beyond grateful for every person who contributed, participated, volunteered, attended, or simply showed up to support us. 🥰

To EVERYONE in the Grand Valley community — THANK YOU! From the bottom of our hearts, Mesa View is grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️

But most importantly…

📣 OUR NUMBER ONE FANS. OUR CHEERLEADERS. OUR RESIDENTS. 📣

They deserved every bit of this. Watching their faces light up, hearing their excitement, and seeing them enjoy the cars, the people, the food, and the energy of the day made every second worth it.

This wasn't just a car show.

It was community.
It was connection.
It was joy.
It was something our residents will remember. ❤️

✨ WHAT A WEEK IT HAS BEEN AT SOLSTICE SENIOR LIVING AT MESA VIEW! ✨

This week definitely kept us on our toes, but we have SO much more coming your way tomorrow! ❤️

From sharing a wonderful Lunch Bunch with our amazing Lead Housekeeper, Lynne, to celebrating Angie’s 5th Anniversary and all of her hard work and dedication, to Residents and our Volunteer Sarah preparing signs and location spaces for our entire parking lot for the Wheels West Car Club and possibly others for Car Show tomorrow—we have been BUSY! And we wouldn’t have it any other way! 🥰

And while we’re talking about tomorrow, we also wanted to share something really special that we have on display at Mesa View! 🇧🇷❤️

Our Brazil display comes from our very own Solstice member Becky (BOM) and her family. The Brazil items belonged to her exchange student, Thiago, who stayed with Becky and her family from 1997–1998.

The beautiful cloth was handmade by Thiago’s grandmother, and the fossils were brought to Becky by his mother as a Christmas gift in 1997, all the way from Brazil! 🎄🇧🇷 The book is all about one of the states in Brazil—and Thiago actually lives in the neighboring state, in a city called Recife!

How incredibly special is that?! 🥰

It’s so cool to have these pieces here at work—not just as something beautiful to look at, but as a way to preserve memories, honor friendships, and share a little piece of another culture and someone’s story with our residents.

And now… about that parking lot. 😂

Our normally busy little parking lot is looking like a ghost town tonight! 👻🚗

But don’t worry—it’s only temporary! 😂 It is patiently awaiting the arrival of Wheels West Car Club and all of the amazing cars, trucks, families, and community members who will be joining us bright and early tomorrow morning! 🏁🚘❤️

A HUGE thank-you to all of our residents, families, and caregivers for helping us get the parking lot completely cleared and ready for tomorrow. Your help makes all of this possible!

Tomorrow is going to be one AMAZING day at Mesa View, and we absolutely cannot wait to see this place come alive! ❤️
