Girlll 🤣 listen… learning how to do these rollers has definitely cost me a few extra grey hairs 👵🏻
But if you need a sign to keep practicing or just feel better about yourself in general… swipe. You’re welcome.
Moral of the story: Don’t give up on a new skill. I was never taught this in school, and for the first 9 years of my career everyone wanted beach curls, so this whole blowout look has felt completely foreign to me. I’m still figuring it out, but taking photos has helped so much.
It can help you see what’s off and what to adjust next time. (Like for me… that crown roller and the back ones need to come up higher 😅 or maybe I need an extra row. Undecided.)
Anyway, there are definitely days I want to throw these rollers across the room. Not the rollers’ fault, I just forget how to use my hands apparently. But it’s getting better, and I’m not quitting.
PS……Also, just so we’re clear, that first photo was not an “I’m proud of this” moment. 🤣 I was dying laughing at how bad I did. My sweet client was an angel though, and let me practice without even flinching. Forever grateful for my guests and everything they put up with 🥹

Have you ever noticed how often the same words can mean totally different things to different people? 😅
One term that comes up in my chair all the time is “bronde”… and I’ve learned that it can mean a LOT of different things depending on who you ask.
It’s one of my favorite colors to do, but because there’s so much variation, I like to keep a ton of photos on hand so we can look at them together and make sure we’re actually on the same page before we start.
To me, bronde sits right in between blonde and brunette. It’s that dark blonde/light brown that still has softness and dimension, but chills out on the contrast.
There are definitely variations, so it can lean warm, neutral, or even slightly cool depending on your natural base… but no matter what, it always stays super soft and natural.
Whether you’re a stylist or a client, save this for your next bronde inspo ✨
I don’t see my business as something I built on my own. I see it as something I’ve been blessed with and entrusted to steward, and I don’t take that lightly!
Because of that, I want to be intentional about covering it in prayer… my clients, my coworkers, this space, and the decisions I make every day. 🤍
I don’t always remember to be as intentional as I want to be, so this is just as much a reminder for me as it is for anyone else who might feel the same.
Take a minute today and pray over your business too. It shifts your focus back where it belongs… on Him. 🤍
Captions that are hair related are so hard for me anymore. Like I already said what I wanted to say IN the reel, so if I say something like “my guest came in for her yearly blonding etc etc” like I already said that?? 😩 It feels redundant. Maybe I should just make my captions completely and utterly unhinged or unrelated to the reel to see who actually reads them.
Should I do that for a while or is that weird? 🤣
More than just a hairstylist…..we’re your sounding board, your hype team, and sometimes, your therapist. (And let’s be real, often times you are OUR therapist also 🙏🏻)
Whether it’s swapping stories or giving you beautiful hair, we’re here to listen, create, and make sure you leave feeling loved and heard. Thanks for letting us be a part of your journey.
Sincerely,
Your hairstylist 🤍

Genuinely can’t decide which one of these I love more! But all three definitely give me all the blonde feels 😍
Which is YOUR fave?

Honestly even with my own hair. When I’m working at the salon, my brighter pieces are a bright level 9. At home in my bathroom, though, they are a brassy level 7. If I didn’t know what I know I would be really sad.
So if you’re a client, this is just a reminder that lighting can be deceiving! So if your color is feeling off, I like to tell my guest to check it out in indirect lighting, like by a window or oddly enough, in your car!! That’s where you’ll see the true tone and find out if there is actually a problem. Just don’t judge your color in warm or fluorescent lighting….because it lies to you!
And if you’re a stylist, this is a great conversation to have with your guests as you’re styling them out and giving them all the deets on how to take care of their hair and what to expect going forward.
Clients AND stylists, was this helpful? LMK!

Oddly enough, it is SO much harder for me to formulate warm than it is for me to formulate cool. It just feels like it is never warm enough. UNLESS. The aa’s and the wg’s get involved 😉
I used to be scared to death to use them but now I can’t get enough!
Do you have issues getting warm enough or am I a weirdo?!

You don’t always need a dramatic transformation to make a big impact. Sometimes, a soft, subtle refresh is all you need. ✨ Here’s the breakdown 👇🏻
Enhancing Natural Tones: Instead of an all-over blonde overhaul, we kept her natural base and added just the right amount of brightness for dimension. ☀️
Soft & Sun-Kissed placement: The low contrast ribbons of blonde mimic natural highlights, making it look effortlessly blended.
Low-Maintenance Blonde: This technique allows for a softer grow-out, meaning fewer salon visits while still feeling super fresh during the in-between!
If you’re craving a little change without the high upkeep, save this/send to your stylist for inspo! 🥰

I am a stylist advocate through and through. Especially these days where cancel culture is at its peak (even when it’s insanely undeserved.)
We all start somewhere, we all make mistakes, and I have so much compassion for that. Nine times out of ten, I can see the vision behind a cut or color, even if it didn’t quite come together as intended. I’ve been there myself, and I completely understand how easy it is for things to go sideways.
That being said, I think one of the hardest things to do as a stylist is to acknowledge when something isn’t in our wheelhouse. There can be a lot of pressure to say yes, whether it’s because we don’t want to turn away a client, or we feel like we should be able to do it. But the truth is, no one is great at everything. And that’s okay.
For example, when it comes to MY strengths….I specialize in lived-in color! But edgy cuts? Rainbow hair? Super short pixies? That’s not my thing. And because I want my clients to get the best results possible, I have no problem saying, “Oh my gosh, my friend [ # # ] would absolutely slay this for you—let me connect you with them!”
I truly wish more stylists felt empowered to do the same. Not because it makes anyone a bad stylist, but because it makes us better when we recognize where we shine and when something might be better in someone else’s hands. That’s not failure—that’s professionalism.
So, if something isn’t your specialty, please consider these two options: either take the time to train and refine your skills in that area, or confidently refer the client to someone who excels at it. Either way, the client wins, the stylist wins, you’ve supported another stylist, everyone is happy, and our industry as a whole is stronger for it. You’ve got this, babe!
Have you ever had a stylist recommend you to someone else, or have you done it yourself? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
PS- if anyone knows who the gorgeous “inspo” image belongs to, please lmk and I’ll tag them/credit them!
