Sometimes, hair is so much more than hair.
We never really know what someone is carrying when they sit in our chair.
Sometimes they come in because they need a change. Sometimes they need a distraction. Sometimes they just need a few hours where they don’t have to think about everything happening outside of the salon.
And sometimes, they come to us in the middle of something unimaginable.
I’ve had clients sit in my chair during some of the hardest seasons of their lives, and I’ve learned that what happens here can be so much bigger than the service we’re providing.

We can’t change their circumstances. We can’t take away their grief or make the hard things disappear.

But we can give them a place to breathe.

A place to feel cared for.
A place to feel like themselves again.
And sometimes, that little bit of transformation is enough to make the next step feel a little more manageable.

The hair is what you see in the before and after.

But the connection, the comfort, and the trust that happens in between?

That’s the part I’ll never take for granted. 🤍

She’s been a longtime client of mine, and after becoming a mom of two, what she wanted from her hair completely shifted.

Less maintenance.

Something that still feels beautiful, but fits the season of life she’s actually in.

So we took her from a higher-maintenance look to a softer, more dimensional approach that will grow out beautifully and give her more freedom between appointments.

Because sometimes the best hair transformation isn’t about going bigger or blonder…

And I think this is one of my favorite parts of being a hairstylist—getting to evolve with my clients through every season of their lives. 😘💋

Success in this industry isn’t reserved for the most talented stylist in the room. It’s reserved for the one willing to become so much more than a hairstylist.

The technical skills matter, but they aren’t enough.

You have to learn how to communicate, market yourself, build relationships, lead others, manage your finances, sell with integrity, create content, continue your education, and show up consistently—even on the days you don’t feel like it.

Doing hair is the smallest part of building a career you love.

The beautiful thing about this industry is that if you’re willing to grow, it will grow you right back.
