I have the opportunity to overlap my shoulder surgeries by a month. After a lot of consideration, I will be doing my right shoulder surgery on July 31. I know this is not what my clients wanted to hear but it just needs to be done. I think this is a better plan than coming back for a month or 2, part-time, then taking another 3 months off. I am hoping to be back around the middle of October. So far my first shoulder is healing well and the pain has been manageable. I miss you all and look forward to being back behind the chair this fall.

I will be having shoulder surgery on Monday May 22. My salon will be closed and recovery is expected to be about 3 months. I am booked this week so I will not be taking any more appointments. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I am advising people to ask freinds for referrals to other stylist in the area. I am not booking out as of now.

Hey friends! My friend, Kris, introduced me to this hydrating sunless tanner! I'm excited to try it.

Streak-free gel, easy to apply, no orange and low odor! Also loaded with avocado 🥑 oil, antioxidants and vitamin E.

Who wants in? She’s putting together a list today.🤎

Just a heads up that I will be having surgery on Wednesday, July 13th. I will be off for a couple of weeks and working back slowly. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Jan Seabolt's COVID-19 Preparedness Plan for Jan's Grand Salon
I am committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for myself and my customers. To ensure that, I have developed the following COVID-19 Preparedness Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. My goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in my salon and community, and that requires full cooperation among my customers. Only through this cooperative effort can we establish and maintain the safety and health of my workplace.
I am responsible for implementing and complying with all aspects of this COVID-19 Preparedness Plan by enforcing the provisions of this policy.
I am serious about the safety and health of my customers. Along with the guidance of the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology regulations, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines, federal OSHA standards related to COVID-19 and Executive Order 20-48 have developed the COVID-19 Preparedness Plan and addresses:
• hygiene and respiratory etiquette;
• engineering and administrative controls for social distancing;
• customer controls and protections for drop-off, pick-up, and delivery;
• housekeeping, including cleaning, disinfecting and decontamination;
• prompt identification and isolation of sick persons;
• communications and training for myself;
Screening and policies for myself and customers exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19
I am self-monitoring for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. The following policies and procedures are being implemented to assess my health status prior to entering the salon. I will take my temperature at the beginning of each shift. If I have a temp of 100.4 degrees or greater I will wait in my car and re-temp in 15 minutes. If I get the same result I will leave the salon & contact my customers to reschedule their appointments. If my fever or any other COVID-19 symptoms develop I will self-quarantine for 14 days.
Please take your temperature at home before arriving. If you have a temp of 100.4 degrees or higher or are sick in any way please call Jan to reschedule your appointment.
Hand-washing:
Basic infection prevention measures are being implemented at my salon at all times. I will wash my hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water after each client or use a hand-sanitizer greater than 60% alcohol. Hand washing will take place at the beginning and end of my shift, before and after any meals and after using the bathroom. All visitors/customers to Jan's Grand Salon will be required to wash their hands or sanitize prior to or immediately upon entering the salon. Sanitizer can be used as long as hands are not visibly soiled.
Respiratory etiquette:
I will be wearing masks for your protection. I require my customers to bring and wear a mask that hooks around the ears, not tied in the back. If you don’t have a mask we will have some available for you to buy at cost. I will not be doing any services that would involve taking off the mask, beard and mustache trims, lip, and face waxing.
Social distancing:
I will be following social distancing by limiting the number of customers in the salon. Please stay in your car and call Jan Seabolt to check-in. I will call you back when I am ready and it’s safe to enter the salon. Please only bring necessities to your visit, no extras like a coat or purse, etc. Please do not bring additional guests into the salon. At this time the waiting area will be closed. I am excited to see you but No handshakes or hugs please.
I will help you schedule your next appointment and gather any retail products to make your checkout more efficient for you. I ask that all customers refrain from touching any retail products and ask me for help.
Housekeeping:
Regular housekeeping practices are being implemented, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of work surfaces. Frequent cleaning and disinfecting will be conducted in high-touch areas, such as phones, door handles, credit card readers, etc.
For everyone’s safety, coffee and water services will be temporarily suspended, as well as magazines & hair cutting books. Feel free to bring a beverage with you.
My tools will be cleaned and sanitized after each customer per the guidelines, laid out by The Board of Cosmetology. I will also sanitize my station surfaces and chair between appointments. Capes, towels, combs & brushes will be washed after each use.
Communications and training:
This Preparedness Plan was created by Jan Seabolt This COVID-19 Preparedness Plan is posted at the salon and on Jan's Grand Salon page 5-22-2020. It will be updated as necessary.

I far as I know, I will be able to open on June 1. There are strict guidelines that will be in place. There will be no walk-in appointments made. I will be booking appointments starting with the people that were canceled first from March. I will be calling clients as their names come up on the list I made from canceled appointments. I am already getting a lot of calls and texts. I am sorry that I won't be able to get everyone in when they want. I understand if some can't wait and need to get their hair done sooner than I can fit you in. I will hope to see you in the future. I am asking that clients supply their own masks if possible. So hang tight and I will be trying to contact everyone as soon as possible. I will be posting guidelines for what we will follow for your appointment soon.
