I’m grateful for this guy every day, but in July it especially hits me how much he means to me. It’s his birthday month and our anniversary and I’ve never regretted saying yes to him 17 years ago!
He believes in my visions and dreams, supports and loves me and our girls non stop, and isn’t afraid to call me out when needed. He’s exactly what I need and exactly who I love.

It’s so rare when the salon is clutter free! I had to snag a few photos to show it off!
When my husband and I bought Grand Rapids Hair Salon in 2017 we never expected to be where we are now but I did hope for it!
We got a business loan and put our house on the line to dive in and try out business without much experience. All we knew was how to save money, work hard, and notice the little things that make a big impact.
While I don’t recommend putting your home on the line for a business loan (I don’t recommend a business loan at all, use cash and start small!), I would recommend jumping in and trying things if you feel a pull towards serving people. There is no better way to serve than in the field you know, making it better one small decision at a time!
Our salon did not look like this when we bought it but slowly, over time we have transformed it into one of the top salons in Grand Rapids! We are very proud of it, but mostly we are proud of the relationships that have come out of it.
It’s my favorite thing to help a new stylist learn the ropes, to teach a master stylist new tricks, and to help burnt out stylists find their passion again.
