Probiotic foods are fermented items that contain live, healthy bacteria to support your gut health.
Top Probiotic Foods Include:
💡Yogurt: A creamy dairy or plant-based food. Look for labels that say “live and active cultures”.
💡Kefir: A tangy, drinkable milk or water-based beverage packed with beneficial bacteria and yeasts.
💡Sauerkraut: Finely shredded cabbage fermented by lactic acid bacteria. Choose unpasteurized versions, as heat kills the live bacteria.
💡Kimchi: A spicy Korean side dish made from fermented cabbage and radishes.Tempeh: A firm, fermented soybean cake rich in plant protein.
💡Miso: A traditional Japanese fermented soybean paste often used in soups.
💡Kombucha: A fizzy, fermented black or green tea drink.
💡Pickles: Cucumbers fermented in salt and water. Note that pickles made with vinegar instead of natural salt fermentation do not contain live probiotics.
