Her golden tone is completely intentional—and we love it. When we first started her blonding journey, we were working through previous dark color and carefully removing years of pigment to get her lighter while keeping her hair healthy along the way.

One thing I always educate my blonding clients on is that achieving your dream color is only part of the process. Maintaining the health of your hair is just as important.

That’s why regular treatments are non-negotiable during major transformations. Bond-building treatments help support and restore disulfide bonds that can be compromised during chemical services, while peptide repair treatments work deeper to help strengthen and rebuild the hair from within. Together, they help improve strength, elasticity, softness, and overall hair integrity.

Regular haircuts every 10–12 weeks are just as important. Trimming away worn ends keeps the hair looking fuller, healthier, and helps prevent splitting from traveling further up the hair shaft.

Today’s appointment was all about refreshing her tone, bringing back shine, and giving her hair the care it needs between blonding sessions. We still have one more session planned to lift through some of the mid-lengths and ends before we reach our final Golden Barbie Blonde goal, but her hair health remains the priority every step of the way.

This transformation was all about creating something custom. We did a quad split color placement to give her bold contrast and dimension, paired with a haircut and treatment to bring the hair back to life.

This was a team effort—Lindsay helped with half of the color application so we could work efficiently while still taking the time needed to create a seamless result.

One of my favorite parts of doing fun transformations is that no two are ever the same. Every placement is customized to the client, their lifestyle, and how they want their hair to make them feel.
