Recycling tid-bit from Green Bay ♻️

One of the easiest ways Green Bay residents can improve recycling is by keeping plastic bags, wraps, and films out of curbside bins. These items can tangle in sorting equipment at the recycling facility, leading to delays and costly damage. Instead, plastic bags and film should be taken to designated drop-off bins, available at most major grocery stores. Keeping them out of your curbside bin helps ensure the rest of your recyclables are processed properly and efficiently. Small actions like this make a big difference in how much we’re able to recycle as a community.

I personally also like to use cardboard boxes as a w**d killer and then mulch over the top. The cardboard biodegrades and the mulch keeps the w**ds away. Biodiversity in our soil helps the plants🧬👩🏻‍🌾 if you like these kind of tid bits let me know in the comments.

Cardboard is one of the most recyclable materials we collect, and Green Bay residents recycle a lot of it! To help keep the process running smoothly, please break down boxes and cut cardboard to pieces no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet before placing them in your bin. Large or unbroken boxes can slow down collection and sorting. Flattened cardboard saves space and moves through the system more efficiently.
