Zelma “Helen” Steele, 84, passed away May 10, 2023. She retired as an Assembler for Naval Avionics. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family. Helen is also a member of the New Life Baptist Church-Greencastle IN. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Williams; sister, Hazel Jones; brother, James Long. She is survived by her husband, Charles Steele; daughter, Charolett Whitson; step children, Chuck (Debbie) Steele, Susan (John) Garl, Shirley (Jason) McCullough, sister, Betty Hogan; Grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany) Williams, Melinda Williams, Patrick Williams; step grandchildren, Nicole Ayers, Lisa (Aaron) Wiseman, Jacob (Angie) Garl, Dustin (Amber) Steele, Amber (John) Hoffman, Ryan Steele, Kim (Buddy) Tincher, Korey Cooper, Tristan (Kim) McCullough; 28 great grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren and 1 great great-great-grandchild. Services are 1pm Tuesday May 16, 2023 at Conkle Funeral Home Avon with Visitation 11am-1pm before the Service. Burial will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery. The Mom and Pop Shoe stores are almost a thing of the past. In the age of online shopping it is so easy to just turn on your computer and just submit your order. Course when you have a unique problem as I do and have my entire life , you have to find a place that has what you need. Cento Shoes in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis is that place for me, the problem is that there are not enough of these types of businesses left today and that is why we need to support these businesses in our communities so they can continue to strive in the communiites which we live in. Cento Shoes is what I would call a one stop shop , you can not only visit the store for a quick shoe repair but also find a nice outfit for your next night on the town or just visit the store for a quick shoe shine . The customer service set apart from from any other that I have visited in the past. I would refer it to anyone so remember the next time you need something in a hurry and good customer service try giving them a visit you might be suprised at the quality of service and services that you receive from this small but mighty Mom and Pop Shoe Store.

Easter is this sunday, my how the new year sums to pasting us by, course as we all know this starts our busy time of the year.
