the goal is healthy blonde ✨

…but make it bright!

One year ago we were surrounded by all of our friends and family, getting married! Today, we’re celebrating by finishing up home projects, eating too much chili and snuggling up on the couch for the first time in almost 3 weeks 😅 a first for us since we’ve closed!

A lot can change in a year! I’m so excited for chapter 2 🤍✨

LIFE UPDATE! Only a few weeks shy of our first wedding anniversary and we hit our goal of closing on our first home! 🏡🤍

It’s crazy what life will throw at you just when you’re ready to call it quits for another year and go back to paying rent 🙄 It proves patience will pay off…eventually.

About 3 days before our lease was due to be signed, my mother-in-law called us with information about this home. We had absolutely no idea that phone call would turn into us actually purchasing it.

Sometimes it’s just worth the risk! We didn’t sign the lease, our offer was accepted, and from there it was basically time to cross our fingers and hope everything went as planned.

We officially closed this past Friday and wasted no time heading straight to Home Depot, Menards, and Sherwin-Williams. We’ve barely slept since, but it’s already been so worth it.

This weekend has been full of excitement and a little exhaustion. So far, we’ve gutted two rooms and one is sooooo close to the finish line. We sure have some work to do, but DAMN! We have been making some moves these last couple of days!!!

I’m so proud of us. 🥹🤍

And for the foreseeable future, no, we can’t because we’re broke and will be at home enjoying our mortgage. 🤣

I WANT TO BE SO REAL WITH YOU.

First things first, 3 corrective clients in one week is very rare for my schedule 😅

I would like to say that each of these clients were a dream. Not only did I enjoy my time educating and helping them, I got to get to know the stories of 3 amazing ladies and I’m so honored and excited to work with them! They really listened, asked questions and stayed open minded to what this process might take.

Let’s get in to it!

1. All of my clients want to keep as much length as possible. What does this mean?

We are going to take this as low and slow as we can to preserve the length and the integrity of their hair. It’s not going to be easy, it’s not going to be fast and it’s not going to be all sunshine and rainbows.

Right now, we are starting at the basics. We’re color removing as much as possible and we’re changing home care and habits.

Everyone is well aware that there will probably be some haircuts along the way but we are trying to preserve as much length as possible and with that, we are adding time to the journey.

It is all about the comfort of the client. I will never push anyone to do anything they won’t be happy with. In return, they understand that the process will be slower.

You’ve got to ask what’s more important. The length or the color… and that may change along the way.

2. Each session will determine the next session. We have to see what we can remove, what the hair is handling (test strand) and what it’s lifting to after removal.

That means we might continue to remove, we might take a break OR we might be able to move on to the full blown correction stage.

3. Each of these clients are coming back for a second round of color removing. I test stranded all 3 and the hair either can’t handle a lightening process right now or the color is not lifting well (banding, splotchy).

Color corrections are not a goal. They were stepping stones to the goal. Each visit gets you closer and closer and even when you get close, there will be adjustments for a few more sessions (most likely)

It’s not cheap in time or in money. It’s not always fun. It’s not instant gratification.

Stay tuned for the journey!!

Bright, healthy blonde isn’t built solely in the salon. 🤍

I can formulate carefully.
I can lighten intentionally.
I can protect the integrity of your hair through every step of your appointment.

But what happens during the weeks between your appointments matters just as much.

Your blonde is still your hair and once it leaves my chair, the way you wash it, style it, protect it and maintain it all play a role in how it looks, feels and performs long-term.

That means:

→ Using professional home care that actually supports chemically lightened hair
→ Protecting your hair from heat every single time
→ Being mindful of how often you’re washing, blow drying + heat styling
→ Addressing hard water and mineral buildup
→ Keeping up with treatments when your hair needs extra support
→ Following a maintenance schedule that makes sense for your blonde
→ And telling me when something changes at home so we can adjust

Because healthy blonde isn’t just about avoiding breakage.

It’s about keeping the hair strong enough to hold a style, maintain elasticity, retain shine, feel soft and continue lightening safely at future appointments.

And sometimes, the healthiest thing we can do is not lighten more.

Sometimes we detox.
Sometimes we treat.
Sometimes we trim.
Sometimes we change your home routine.
Sometimes we give your hair a little more time.

That isn’t me standing between you and your dream blonde.

That’s how I plan to get you there without sacrificing.

My approach has never been “how blonde can we get you today?”

It’s:

How do we create a blonde you can actually maintain and hair that still feels beautiful months and years from now?

The salon appointment creates the blonde.

What we do together keeps it healthy. 🤍

Save this for your blonde maintenance routine + send it to a blonde who needs the reminder.
