Truthfully, Jill Scott felt like the perfect artist to launch this journey. Her music invites us to reflect, celebrate, heal, question, remember, and reconnect with ourselves. That’s exactly what I hope The Listening Canvas creates space for.

The Listening Canvas was born from two things that have always influenced my life and creative process: music and art.

As an artist, there are songs that have inspired paintings, poems, journal entries, and entire seasons of my life. I began wondering what would happen if other people were given permission to slow down, listen intentionally, and create from what surfaced.

The result is The Listening Canvas.

Not a paint class.

Not a concert.

An experience.

One where music becomes the guide and the canvas becomes the conversation.

If you’ve ever listened to a song and felt seen, remembered something you’d forgotten, or discovered a feeling you didn’t have words for, this experience was created with you in mind.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about The Listening Canvas, so I figured I’d answer a few of the most common ones. 😊

One thing I want people to know: you do NOT have to know every Jill Scott song to enjoy this experience.

This isn’t a sing-along.

It’s not karaoke.

It’s not a paint class.

It’s an opportunity to slow down, listen, reflect, and create.

Now… if a favorite song comes on and folks start feeling themselves, singing along, swaying in their seats, or having a whole moment? I’m not stopping anybody. 😂🎶

Music has a way of finding us exactly where we are, and that’s what I’m most excited about.
