On the night before the 4th of July …

The face painter was stirring…
The paints were refilled, 🎨
The sponges packed,
And the brushes tucked in tight. 🖌️

The ice packs were freezing, 🧊
The quick foods prepared, 🌯
The fans were charging, 🪭
And the board was decorated with designs to be shared.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While the visions of que lines danced in her head.

Did she pack sunscreen? 🌞
The glitter? ✨
Was the tent in order?
Decorations packed?
Did she fill every last container she owned with fresh water? 💦

She sprang to her bed with visions of smiling children in her head. Sleep a necessary and challenging requirement she had read.

Face painting can be one of those things that reallllllly add up at an event. This year for the first time all Face Painting will be free so every kid and hey, even adults, can enjoy it. Love how this design worked out. Stencils can be tricky, especially ones with multiple layers. While they save free hand time and create more uniform designs, paint consistency must be perfect and layers have to dry completely. Sometimes, using stencils can actually slow an artist down, especially during speed design gigs.
But I’m happy with this one!
