In this video, I sit down with my patient after her deep plane facelift, neck lift, upper blepharoplasty, and lower blepharoplasty to look back at her before-and-after photos and hear her thoughts on her transformation.
One of the things she loves most is that you can see the difference, but her results still look natural and like herself. For me, that is always the goal with facial plastic surgery: creating meaningful rejuvenation without making someone look overdone or unlike themselves.

Three weeks until surgery! ✨ After 35 years working in healthcare, my patient is preparing to undergo facial rejuvenation of her own.
In this pre-operative visit, we talk about why she decided to have surgery, the changes she has noticed over time, and what she hopes to achieve with her results.

She traveled from West Virginia to Pittsburgh for the Leong Lift, my preservation extended deep plane face and neck lift, paired with a brow lift and eyelid surgery: an upper blepharoplasty and a lower blepharoplasty with fat transfer and skin pinch. Here she is three months after her full facial rejuvenation.
What each procedure did:
The Leong Lift: repositioned the deeper layer of the lower face and neck instead of simply pulling it up. Repositioning is the key.
Brow lift: raised the brow and took the weight off her upper lids.
Upper blepharoplasty: removed the extra upper lid skin that remained.
Lower blepharoplasty with fat transfer and skin pinch: removed the bags and put volume back into the hollow beneath them, so the lower lid doesn't look sunken afterward.
Done together, these procedures complement each other in a way none of them could alone.
At three months, she's still healing, and I'll keep tracking her progress. Her results will continue to refine over the coming months.

When you talk with someone, the first place they look is your eyes. 👀 That’s where eye contact happens, and it’s where people read how you feel.
As the upper lid skin stretches, it starts to rest on the lashes. The eyes look heavy, even when you’re well rested.
That’s what an upper blepharoplasty corrects. I remove the excess skin and place the incision in the natural crease, where it heals into the fold of the lid.
The skill is in how much to take. Too little, and the heaviness comes back. Too much, and the eyes look surprised or hollow. The goal is a lid that looks open and lifted, not operated on.
There’s a practical difference too. With the extra skin gone, there’s room for makeup again. Eyeshadow stays on the lid instead of disappearing into the fold.
An upper bleph can stand on its own and be performed in the office. For patients considering a face and neck lift, I often perform the two together as one combined procedure, with one recovery.
Either way, the standard is the same. If you can tell something was done, I didn’t do my job.

Three and a half months after a Preservation Extended Deep Plane Face & Neck Lift with an Upper Blepharoplasty.
A couple of highlights at this point.
Look at the angle under her chin. In the before, time has softened it away - the contour runs from her chin down toward her collarbone, with the muscle bands standing up through it. In the after there's a corner again, and it looks like it was always there.
That's the deeper layer repositioned.
And look at her ear - three and a half months out, and you can't find an incision.
She still looks like herself. That's the entire point.
